It is Category C-Listed. The house began life as a private residence and became a hotel in the 1920s. By the 1970s Dun Aluinn was used as a hostel for Breadalbane Academy. The current owners bought Dun Aluinn in order to transform it into a luxury executive retreat. Water sports are popular on Lochs Tay, Earn and Tummel as well as kayaking on the River Tay. In addition to the many sporting and leisure opportunities in the locality, the countryside surrounding Dun Aluinn also has some of the most famous beauty spots in Scotland including Glen Lyon, the arts & crafts village of Fortingall, the Falls of Dochart, Kenmore on Loch Tay, The Queen s View at Loch Tummel and the Pass of Killiecrankie. Directions From the traffic lights in the centre of Aberfeldy take the A827 west towards Kenmore. After about 250 yards take the first left turn up Alma Avenue.
