4 directions From St Andrews, head east on South Street/A918 towards Logies Lane. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Abbey Street/A917. Take a slight right onto the B9131. Stravithie Mill is on the B9131 about 4 miles from St Andrews on the way to Anstruther. After approximately 2.5 miles turn right into a red blaze drive immediately after a 40mph road speed sign on the right hand side of the road. Stravithie Mill is the first house on the left hand side and is clearly signposted. Situation Stravithie Mill is situated around 4 miles south of the historic town of St Andrews, in a stunning setting looking out over the Cameron Burn and Fife countryside. St Andrews is renowned worldwide as the Home of Golf. There are now seven golf courses under the management of the St Andrews Links Trust, including the Castle Course which opened in The world famous Old Course will play host to the British Open Championship in July Also close by are the two golf courses at The Fairmont St Andrews Hotel, Kingsbarns and the Dukes Courses. The courses at Elie, Crail, Leven and Lundin Links are all within easy reach. St. Andrews is also well known for its university which is one of the oldest in Britain, founded in The town provides good state schooling at Madras College and private schooling at St Leonards, and Dundee High School is easily accessible. The town has a good range of shops, hotels, restaurants and recreational and cultural facilities which include a cinema, theatre, swimming pool, golf museum and castle museum. To the south of St Andrews is the East Neuk of Fife, with a spectacular coastline which boasts fishing villages built around picturesque harbours and sandy unspoilt beaches. Access by rail, road and air is good. Leuchars railway station is on the main Aberdeen to London line and provides a fast link to Dundee and Edinburgh and a sleeper service to London. Edinburgh Airport, with its increasingly wide range of domestic and international flights, is only 50 miles. There is a dual carriageway and motorway connection to Edinburgh from Kirkcaldy (23 miles). history There are a number of interesting stories told about Stravithie Mill, the main source being the Statistical Account of Dunino Parish. One such report describes Stravithie Mill having been built from the masonry of Stravithie Castle, which stood a few hundred yards away to the north west. Another account mentions that the roof timbers of the Mill may have come from the Bishop s palace.

6 description Stravithie is a delightful property and dates from the 18th century with the top floor being added later in It was converted for residential use in 1986 and the workings of the mill can still be seen today.the accommodation is arranged to take best advantage of the fantastic garden and is split over three levels. Internally the house is finished to a high standard and is very well suited to family living. There is an excellently designed open plan kitchen/sitting room with integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer and dish washer. There is an Aga and a gas hob.
