Swetha, students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, secured the District 1 st rank amoung the students studying in government run schools by scoring 492/500 in the Std. 10 board exam, the results of which were declared on May 20. The predominantly residential street has become a major thoroughfare for vehicle going towards Railway Border Road. The drivers go at break neck speed and hardly ever stop for pedestrians to cross. Senior citizens find it difficult and unsafe especially during peak hours. There is also a school in the vicinity and the children are also at risk of meeting with accidents. My vehicle has been hit twice and I have seen quite a few accidents at the junction of Baroda Street and Railway Border Road. Speed breakers need to be installed at the road s intersections to slow down the drivers.
