Neurosurgeon found dead in clinic When he did not see any of the waiting patients for a long while, some of them went into his chamber to enquire and found him unconscious. He was rushed to Bharthirajaa hospital where doctors declared him brought dead at 3.40 p.m. His body was sent to Government General Hospital for a postmortem. He is survived by wife, Dr. Devi Shanmugapriya (an ENT specialist) and two children. Delay in remittance of flood relief amounts Several residents have complained about delay and nonreceipt of flood relief amounts even several days after the survey was conducted and details collected. Residents of 56th Street, Ashok Nagar were among the worst affected during the floods in December. The street was inundated with 6 feet deep water and they suffered for four days without electricity, drinking water, milk and other essential food items. The ground floor residents suffered heavy loss as water entered their homes. On Dec. 5, Corporation staff collected particulars of ration card, Aadhar card and bank account numbers from the residents. But till date, the relief amount of Rs. 5,000 has not been remitted to any resident s account. We doubt if we will receive the amount at all, said a resident to Mambalam Times. Staff at the zonal office are clueless about the reasons for the delay in remittance, he added. N. K. Chandran, a resident of 11th Avenue, Ashok Nagar, had a similar story to tell. He told Mambalam Times that the Corporation staff did a survey on Dec. 12 and obtained the necessary details, but till date the relief amount has not been credited. He said that most of the residents of the colony have not received the amount even after 45 days. Radhatri Nethralaya conducts workshop on Retinopathy in Infants Members of the Interact Club of Holy Cross Matriculation School (Valsarwakkam) attended a free awareness workshop on Retinopathy in Infants in Radhatri Nethralaya, T.
