The popular shingle beach is also only a short distance away. Aldeburgh is internationally renowned for its connection with the famous classical composer Benjamin Britten, and is recognised for the quality of both its sailing and golf clubs. Other amenities in the town include municipal tennis courts, a doctor s surgery and a library plus further facilities which suit both permanent residence and tourists alike. Aldeburgh is recognised for its open countryside, heathland, river estuaries and nature reserves, all of which are connected through a vast array of public footpaths. The town can be accessed from London in approximately two hours and the nearest branch railway line is at Saxmundham, approximately seven miles away.
