In the 1920s, when the Bay became fashionable with the London artistic set, the house was re-modelled ornately in the Art Deco manner with beautiful period detailing. The hallway is an object lesson in understated elegance with trompe l oeil block work and a sweeping staircase with an unusual velvet hand rail the original turquoise paintwork sets off the round-headed door cases. To the left of the hall is the elegant drawing room, a bright sunny room with original panelling and a door onto the terrace; the square bay is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sea views. Additionally an open fireplace with an inset chinoiserie panel matches the original ceiling lamp and silk shades.
