This site was formerly home to an historic public house, The Wellington Arms, which originally opened its doors in 1855 and was frequented by soldiers who were posted at the former military barracks across the road. In more recent years the building was home to the French restaurant Comme Ca which over the years welcomed many famous faces who were in residence at the theatre, located just across the road to the south of Oaklands Park.
