The house s front façade is a fantastic example of a Georgian exterior. Inside the stone staircase is a main feature of the house which opens through three stories, with an iron balustrade that is surrounded by stucco panels and artworks. The portraits on display at Maister depict members of this historically significant local family. The National Trust is looking to work with a future tenant to facilitate public access to part of the building, as was done by the previous tenants of Maister House.

3 Location Hull is a city and established port situated on the north bank of the Humber estuary. It is the regional capital of the East Riding of Yorkshire. The city is situated approximately 60 miles east of Leeds via the M62 and has a population of approximately 260,000. In recent years there has been increasing focus on the Humber estuary as a centre for the offshore renewables industry and Hull is the 2017 UK City of Culture. Maister House is located in the heart of Hull s historic Old Town in the attractive surrounds of Hull s Museum Quarter. The building is immediately opposite Hull s Streetlife Museum and in close proximity to Wilberforce House with The Deep located a short walk south of the property. 6 Public Access to Hall & Staircase The building contains a unique and impressive hallway with a stone staircase, iron and wood balustrade with ornate stucco panels. This hallway previously housed a display of paintings and sculptures, all of which have been removed whilst the building is empty but will be returned when a new occupier is found. The previous tenant of the building allowed members of the public to view the hall and staircase during normal office hours, and permitted the local National Trust Association to provide access on some Heritage Open Days at weekends (doors leading to office spaces are lockable). The National Trust will look to work with any new occupier to continue facilitating some form of public access to this area. User The building currently benefits from consent for office use. Alternative uses will be considered subject to required consents. Repairing Liability The National Trust will retain responsibility for external repairs and decoration, the structure of the building. Repairs and decoration of the lantern staircase and hallway will also remain the responsibility of the National Trust The tenant will be responsible for the remaining internal repairs and decoration. Rateable Value The building is described as Offices & Premises with a Rateable Value of 22,000 per annum. For confirmation of rates payable please contact the local rating authority. Energy Performance Certificate The building is Grade I listed therefore an EPC is not applicable. Lease Terms The building is available TO LET at a guide rent of 20,000 per annum exclusive, incentives avaiable. The building is elected for VAT purposes meaning that VAT is chargeable on the rent.
