3 So much to see and do Located just two miles from Streethay, Lichfield s most famous historic landmark and visitor attraction is the stunning, three-spired medieval cathedral that gives it its city status. As well as making Lichfield an important ecclesiastical centre, the cathedral provides the backdrop to the city s calendar of public events, which include a spectacular Christmas market and annual arts and music festivals. Lichfield was home to many celebrated historic figures. Alongside Lichfield s most famous son, lexicographer Samuel Johnson, eminent alumni include rasmus Darwin, a leading 18th century doctor, scientist, botanist, inventor and poet. His Georgian mansion is open to the public, and showcases his wide expertise. Lichfield was also home to the 18th century actor John Garrick, after whom the city s theatre is named. The purpose-built complex was opened in 2003, and hosts a year-round programme of professional and amateur productions. As well as plenty of green spaces within the city itself, Lichfield offers lovers of the great outdoors easy access to one of the most unspoilt areas of the British Isles. Cannock Chase, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is less than 10 miles from Lichfield. The former royal forest is an idyllic area, renowned for its leisurely walks and cycle tracks, roaming over rolling hills, through purple heather and along miles of quiet woodland routes. For food and drink enthusiasts, Lichfield has an awardwinning array of restaurants, cafés and pubs on offer. 10 Shared Ownership Homes are available with Shared Ownership, a part buy part rent scheme, which makes buying your home more affordable. Shared Ownership enables you to buy a share in a brand new home while paying a subsidised rent on the remaining share. The initial share you buy will usually be between 25% and 75% of the full purchase price and is tailored to suit your circumstances, meaning it is not only affordable for you now, but in the future too. ou will pay a subsidised rent to Orbit on the share that you don t own and in most cases you will have the opportunity to purchase further shares in your home if you wish. This is known as staircasing. When you purchase further shares in your home the rent reduces accordingly and if you staircase to 100% ownership there is no rent to pay. Our experienced Sales Consultants will support you through your purchase and are dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Safety on site We want you to be safe on site and enjoy your visit, so the following has been issued to comply with Health and Safety Legislation. Please use the designated car park and visit our marketing suite first. A qualified Orbit employee must always accompany you anywhere within development construction areas. The marketing suite, show homes and any finished or occupied areas outside construction areas will be safe, however care needs to be taken with regard to any vehicles that may use the roads, top surfacing of roads and footpaths may not be completed and may be uneven. Please supervise any children with you when visiting our sales area (please note children under the age of 16 are not allowed in construction areas at any time even if accompanied). Hard hats and appropriate safety footwear need to be worn at all times along with high visibility jackets or waist coats, these are available within the marketing suite. There is no access to areas where scaffolding is erected or any open trenches or other excavations. It is within a very short drive of two major roads whose Roman predecessors, Watling Street and Ryknild Street, inspired the development s historically-themed name. Now, the A5 runs west towards Wales and south east towards Tamworth, and the A runs south to Birmingham and North ast to Burton upon-trent and Derby. Access to the M6 Toll is just five miles away from Roman Heights, with the M42 and M6 also within easy reach. Rail access to London uston, from nearby Lichfield Trent Valley Station, can take as little as an hour and a quarter, Manchester Piccadilly from an hour and 24 minutes, and the business centres of Derby, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Birmingham, Tamworth and Burton-upon-Trent are all easily reached by commuters. Birmingham Airport, from where national and international carriers provide flights throughout urope, and further afield to destinations including Auckland, New ork and Dubai is less than 22 miles from Roman Heights, and it s under 30 miles to ast Midlands Airport, which offers a further selection of flights to destinations across urope, Scandinavia and the US.
