There is National Hunt racing and Polo a short distance away at Scone Palace. Directions Leave the M90 motorway at Junction 9 (Bridge of Earn) and follow the A912 towards Cupar and Newburgh. After about 1.8 miles bear left at the small roundabout on to the A913 and, after a further 0.3 miles, on reaching the small village of Aberargie the drive leading to Ayton will be seen on the right hand side at the end of the village, next to Ayton North Lodge. Description Ayton House is an exceptional Georgian mansion which has an earlier Jacobean wing with later additions by Robert Lorimer. It is believed to be built on the site of a Roman watchtower and has a colourful history, documented from Jacobean times on.
