Moving through the multiple tunnels connecting downtown buildings, tourgoers lern bout rchitecture, the history of the buildings, nd surprising stories bout prominent Tulsns. EXPLORE DOWNTOWN TULSA We tech Tuls s kids to be proud of their hometown. Mny of Tuls s youth never get the chnce to spend time in the hert of the city. Touring with TFA, students lern firsthnd how Tuls s history hs shped our rchitecture. In prtnership with the George Kiser Fmily Foundtion, the Explore Downtown Tuls progrm exposes students to the culturl nd historicl tresures of the downtown re, llowing them to drem big in their cdemic nd personl pursuits.

Lovers of old houses turn out by the hundreds to explore the history nd eclectic rchitecture of unique Tuls neighborhoods. Residents of Tuls s most intriguing neighborhoods open up their privte homes to provide glimpses into the pst nd showcse their homes rich rchitecturl heritge. Pst tours hve included Reservoir Hill, Riverview, nd Lortondle. DWELL IN THE IDL Discover wht it s like to live upstirs, downtown. The Dwell in the IDL tour ttrcts hundreds of tourgoers eger to experience the ltest residentil developments in the hert of downtown Tuls. This selfpced tour showcses downtown living through dptive reuse nd cretive new construction within the Inner Dispersl Loop, or IDL. With the resurgence of interest in modern design nd fshion, Modern Tuls nd TFA hve helped to sve mzing MidCentury Modern homes cross Tuls by hosting Mod of the Moment events with our locl REALTORS. 8 HISTORIC TAX CREDITS Preservtion is powerful ctlyst for community growth nd revitliztion. Tuls Foundtion for Architecture understnds the importnce of retining this effective tool, to ensure the vibility of the historic rehbilittion projects driving investment in downtowns cross the stte. This is why we commissioned sttewide study on the economic impct of Oklhom s Historic Tx Credit progrm. Study findings strongly support retention of the progrm: fisclly responsible incentive, the historic tx credit progrm hs been remrkbly successful in creting jobs, generting tx revenues t the stte nd locl level, nd bringing vcnt buildings bck to life to the benefit of cities nd towns cross our stte. A NEW HOME A significnt collection of resources deserves significnt home. This yer, Tuls Foundtion for Architecture moved into the historic Ponc City Svings & Lon Building t the corner of 7th Street nd Boston Avenue. This significnt MidCentury Modern structure designed by locl rchitect Robert E. Buchner, AIA ( ) hs been vcnt for mny yers. TFA is overseeing restortion of the building nd will soon be hosting tours, exhibits, lectures nd gtherings in our new spce, long with our prtners t AIA Estern Oklhom. Our Archives include n extensive collection of originl rchitecturl drwings of Tuls buildings nd residences, such s the Medicl Arts Building, Wrehouse Mrket, Southern Hills Country Club, the Tuls Assembly Center, nd the Mbee Residence. New mterils re donted regulrly. We lso house rchitecturl periodicls dting from 1920 to 1980, newspper clippings, photogrphs, project specifictions nd rtifcts. Our collection is invluble for reserchers, rchitects nd students. ADVOCACY Creting culture tht embrces the vlue of rchitecture is wht we do.
