2 photo: Hania Danilow Philharmonic Hall Pavilion Großer Grasbrook 10 The Hamburg Philharmonic Hall Pavilion stands on HafenCity's central plaza, Magellanterrassen, with a direct view of the building site The Pavilion was designed by Studio Andreas Heller Here, the citizens of Hamburg and tourists from all over the world will find interesting information and insights into Hamburg Philharmonic Hall, in English as well as German With its interesting exhibition items, films and information boards, the Pavilion explains the history of the location, the architecture and the use of the building on the one hand and on the other introduces the musical tradition behind Hamburg Philharmonic Hall, the musical experience and the program The exhibition is open from 9 am through 8 pm, admission is freethe Pavilion is crowned by the 1:10 model of the Large Auditorium, which conveys a fascinating spatial impression of its unique concept The model can be inspected as part of guided tours Project is public! 2008 Studio Andreas Heller ReGe Hamburg Projekt The exhibition is open from 9 am through 8 pm, admission is free 2

3 Am Sandtorkai 54 AM SANDTORKAI 54 The building marks the entrance to the Am Sandtorkai quarter Hamburg architect Jan Störmer has designed a modern building that totally harmonises with its traditional local surroundings Punctuated by windows, the structure's north-facing closed façade is reminiscent of the historic Speicherstadt warehouse buildings it overlooks In all other respects the building embraces the water of the Sandtorhafen harbour, its expansive glass frontage affording clear views of the historic ships below Sited directly adjacent to the Magellan Terraces, the building is also a prime location for outdoor dining HafenCity's first restaurant, the Chilli Club, opened here on 14 July 2005 (text from Project is public! m² Jan Störmer Partner Bayern-Versicherung, Lebensversicherung AG 3

4 Am Sandtorkai 56 Am Sandtorkai 56 Two distinct blocks, separated cleanly by a shining, translucent centre: the building is evocative of Hamburg's many inner city canals - a renowned, historic feature of 's largest port city A central glass hall connects the structure's two blocks, providing a thematic break and spectacular views of Hamburg's historic Speicherstadt warehouse district as well as the vintage vessels and museum ships moored in the Sandtorhafen harbour basin below m² APB Architekten BDA DDS Unternehmen für Eigenheim-und Wohnungsbau GmbH 4

5 Harbour Cube Am Sandtorkai 58 age=projekte_detail&show=projekte&item=15 Hamburg architect Marc-Olivier Mathez has grouped the 20 apartments in the 'Harbour Cube' around an expansive, sun-drenched atrium, which begins on the second floor and is covered by a large glass roof top The atrium also opens directly onto a south-facing private 'deck', to which all residents have direct access from their apartments The residential units are integrated with the outdoors via bay windows and conservatories The first above-ground level has space for service-sector businesses m² Marc-Olivier Mathez ARGE Sandtorkai GbR 5

8 photo: Nazar Leskiw H2O Am Sandtorkai 64 age=projekte_detail&show=projekte&item=17 The two building uses, residential accommodation and space for service-sector businesses, are clearly distinguishable in the façade design The office cube will feature a high-tech floor-to-ceiling window front, whereas the residential wings will have a brick-red façade that is punctuated by windows The apartment floor plans are very flexible in that the apartments are configured so that smaller units can be combined with others on the same or adjoining levels to create larger spaces Another key attraction of the apartments: spacious conservatories, where residents can relax and enjoy the spectacle of the historic ships and sailing boats moored in the Sandtorhafen harbour basin below m² Spengler Wiescholek Architekten 8

16 Oval Am Kaiserkai 10 age=projekte_detail&show=projekte&item=27 The slogan "Lebens(t)räume am Strom", meaning living dreams and spaces near the river, constitutes the basic theme for this residential project that imetas Hamburg, Büro Ingenhoven und Partner Architekten and Primus Immobilien AG developed The oval residential tower by the future Tall Ship Harbour is an eye catcher; the building's succinct shape forms an important contrast to the adjacent buildings Apartments that are flooded with light and which can be designed individually are located on eleven floors offering impressive views over HafenCity, Speicherstadt, the River Elbe and downtown Hamburg The units range from 58 m2 to 300 m² 'Kontor am Kaiserkai', an office building with six floors featuring a leasing space of approximately 3,875 m², will be created next to the residential tower (text from HafenCity Hamburg) m² Ingenhoven Architekten dquai GmbH c/o imetas property services GmbH 16

18 HafenCity Public Space Grosser Grasbrook 1 The new profile of the land has been studied thinking of human needs, so that people can feel relaxed here The new urban planning brings the public in a fluid movement from the new housing blocks down to the water, making for everyone's enjoyment a new artificial landscape that is inhabited by natural elements: water and plants People can find water and trees on every level of the public space Water level (0,00): special floating elements provide the presence of greenery and trees at the water level Water is visible from the borders and through holes, to create a pond like effect Low promenade level (4,50): this level is mainly for pedestrians, and will host small café's thereby creating a relaxed promenade This level will be flooded only on exceptionally bad weather days, on an average of twice or three times a year Street level (7, 50): pedestrian and playing areas, also at street level, separating heavy traffic from pedestrians (text from architect's website) Project is public! 2008 Landscape architect Enric Miralles & Benedetta Tagliabue EMBT Hafencity Hamburg GmbH 18
