The Swan Theare - The Reduced Shakespeare Company Inroducion I has again been a difficul year for Worceser Live financially bu an incredibly successful one in erms of achievemen.

2 The Swan Theare - The Reduced Shakespeare Company Inroducion I has again been a difficul year for Worceser Live financially bu an incredibly successful one in erms of achievemen. There have, as always, been unexpeced mainenance coss, including he lif and he organ a Huningdon Hall and some asbesos and wiring problems a The Swan Theare, as well as he consan need o improve our markeing and keep up wih echnological advances. The resul has been a loss his rading year bu ha will be offse by he Bransford Trus generously increasing is funding. One of he curren challenges is ha we are negoiaing four differen new leases a he same ime; Huningdon Hall wih he Crown Esae, Henry Sandon Hall wih Bransford Trus, and The Swan Theare and Queen Elizabeh House wih Ciy Council. The srengh of Worceser Live is, as wih all successful companies, he people who make and deliver he produc. We have a brillian eam of professional saff, boh full and par ime, an engaged and acive muli-skilled Board of Direcors, and more han 150 voluneers who are a he very hear of everyhing we do. As always, here are good reasons for opimism abou he fuure. Chris Jaeger MBE, Chief Execuive Swan Theare (Paron - Imelda Saunon CBE) The Swan has had a very busy and fulfilling year. The Swan Youh Theare is well aended and achieves high sandards and will be covered in a separae repor along wih he Worceser Reperory Company. Dance classes oo are well aended. The Swan Theare School ran his year and wo of is sudens were successful in being acceped for he Naional Youh Theare. Amaeur hire a he Theare accouns for abou a hird of our year, and mos of he amaeur companies enjoy grea success wih large aendances. A leas four of hem have also won NODA naional and regional awards for heir performances. The new cooling sysem in he Vesa Tilley Sudio has been a grea success and has made he space a wonderful and much-used resource for he Theare. 2

Generally, Huningdon Hall remains a popular, ambien venue, and was again voed favourie Worcesershire venue by readers of Wha s On magazine. Many of he evens were free a poin of conac and a good number of evens were suiable for families. Worceser Cahedral played is usual cenral role along wih many oher Worceser organisaions, and Fesival evens were saged across 29 differen venues. The Fesival really does make Worceser buzz in Augus and has become an imporan par of life in Worceser. The Worceser Rep has jus received an inviaion from he Inernaional Shakespeare Fesival o ake is producion of A Midsummer Nigh s Dream o Romania in Worceser Rep s Liz Grand is o our her new Agaha Chrisie show, Where Is Mrs Chrisie?, naionally in March and April in Worceser Rep a he Commandery - Charley s Aun 6
