5 improved. he shule sysem is modified on an ongoing basis as classroom and oher locaions are changed, based on regular daa collecion and analysis of ridership. Curren shule roues are depiced in xhibi A - ap 4 ( Curren Shule Bus Sysem ap ), which updaes Figure F.12 in he 2011 P. Currenly, he Academy has six regular weekday roues (,, G,,, and ) ha operae beween 14 and 17 hours per day and six express roues ha operae for a range of imes. Four of he express roues (Federal, orh Poin, Polk/Warehouse, and Warehouse) operae for less han one hour per day. he remaining wo express roues (ayes and Suer) operae beween 9 and 12 hours per day. On Saurday, four regular roues (1, 2, 3, and 4) operae 16 hours per day, while one regular roue (1) operaes 9 hours per day on Sunday. he Academy has wo primary shule hubs, 620/860 Suer ree and 180 ew ongomery ree, and one secondary shule hub, 466 ownsend ree. All express roues currenly use nine- passenger vans. While shule sop locaions for exising buildings generally remain consan, he Academy modifies roues and schedules o beer connec classrooms and residences, and o minimize underuilizaion of shule vehicles, as class configuraions change each semeser. Specific improvemens since he las P Updae include: Overall shule usage has decreased. Average ridership per weekday as of Spring 2017 is 2,197. his number represens 1,673 fewer riders han he las updae in he decrease in shule ridership is likely he resul of a combinaion of facors including a decrease in enrollmen, an increase in he use of oher privae ransporaion services such as Lyf and Uber, and he consolidaion of course offerings wihin Academy buildings which necessiaes fewer ransfers. he oal number of shule buses in use has decreased, and fewer secondary shules are needed o supplemen service during peak hours. Back- up shules and are no longer in use, and a hird back- up bus ha was formerly used o accommodae overflow is no longer in use. xhibi B, Supplemen 2 describes he number of shule buses in he shule bus sysem and heir capaciy. Based on he reducion in demand, he oal number of shule buses has been reduced from 42 o 40 since he las updae. o reduce poenial effecs on raffic and air emissions, several diesel shules have been replaced wih gasoline- powered vehicles, and new filers have been insalled on all buses. As of spring 2017, and consisen wih he miigaion measures in he (and P where i overlaps), he Academy is esing he relocaion of he shule sops from 620 and 860 Suer ree o 491 Pos ree during afernoon commue hours (4:00-6:00 p.m.) o alleviae shule sop issues on Suer ree; he shule sop a 60 Federal ree was moved from Second and aber ino he Federal alleyway immediaely proximal o he Academy building, o improve vehicular and pedesrian safey a ha sie; and shule sops have been eliminaed a 2295 aylor ree and 1055 Pine ree, due o low demand. 1 he average weekday ridership coun in Spring 2015 was 3,870 riders per day. 5

Among he many benefis he Academy has brough o he Ciy is he adapive re- use of underuilized, ofen hisoric buildings for suden housing and he Academy will coninue o do so in coordinaion wih enrollmen as necessary, and in accordance wih all Planning Code requiremens.
