7 GRADUATE THESIS Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS 2014 Architecture for living with dying and death: the design of a hospice and funerary complex in Halifax, NS The proposed hospice and funerary complex seeks the opportunity for authentic experiences with the dying and recently deceased. It is hoped that such a complex would deepen the meaning of this universal human experience. The waste collection facility, run by residents, converts waste into highgrade fertilizer for local farmers.
