So here s some useful information about the area around Elgar Grange.

7 Transport Worcester has two railway stations, one at Foregate Street and the other at Shrub Hill, both around two miles from Elgar Grange and both offering frequent services to Birmingham New Street and London Paddington, with the journey times taking around 50 minutes and three hours respectively. The development is well served by local buses, and is less than a mile from the M5. Leisure & Recreation Less than a mile from Elgar Grange, Worcester Woods Country Park, which includes the Nunnery Woods nature reserve, offers endless opportunities to relax and ramble in peaceful and beautiful natural surroundings. There is a sports complex at Nunnery Wood with indoor and outdoor facilities. The Perdiswell Leisure Centre in the Worcester town centre, incorporates an 18-hole golf course in addition to their gym and sports facilities and is currently undergoing a major redevelopment which will provide two new swimming pools, a new gym, dance studio and five-a-side pitches. Shopping There is a convenience store in Kilbury Drive, just a few minutes walk away, and a shopping area including a Tesco Express, a post office and a petrol station can be found around a mile away on London Road. Central Worcester has lively shopping facilities, with national chains and fashion outlets along the High Street and in Crown Gate mall. These complement the local, traditional ambience found in areas like Friar Street and The Gallery. Education & Health Nunnery Wood is the nearest of several primary schools within a fifteen-minute walk of Elgar Grange and is a large community school rated good across all categories by Ofsted. There is also has a High School at Nunnery Wood, this is a science specialist school with academy status. The medical practice at St Peter s drive, with a choice of eight GPs plus ancillary staff, is fifteen minutes walk from the development, while the Worcester Royal Hospital s A&E department is only a mile and a half away. 15 Arts & Entertainment Live entertainment venues in Worcester include Huntingdon Hall and the Swan Theatre. Collectively these venues present a mixture of drama, talks and music of all kinds. The Cathedral hosts musical and other events including exhibitions and plays, and the Worcester Festival is an annual two-week celebration with something for everyone. There are two multi-screen cinemas in the town, and many local pubs and clubs.
