Sexual assault is a especially egregious form of sexual harassmet ad discrimiatio. Studets with disabilities who eed academic services are asked to make their eeds kow ad to file timely request forms each semester with the Office of Disability Services for accommodatios i course work or other aspects of campus life. Facilities Maagemet ad Buildig Services 126 West Street, Buildig services, a divisio of Smith College Facilities Maagemet, provides custodial ad housekeepig services to the studet resideces. Routie requests should be writte o the work request form o the head residet s door, which is checked daily. Emergecies (e.g., overflowig water, safety hazards, o heat, o power) should be reported immediately through the customer service ceter durig regular work hours or to Campus Police ( ) after hours ad o weekeds. The User Support Ceter i Stoddard Hall provides phoe ad walk-i help for all systems ad software supported by ITS. Iteratioal Studets ad Scholars Global Studies Ceter, Wright Hall, This office provides iformatio ad advice to iteratioal studets o all matters pertaiig to immigratio, visas, foreig travel, passports, work authorizatio, practical traiig programs ad persoal ad fiacial problems. The office works to assess the eeds of iteratioal studets ad facilitate their smooth trasitio to life at Smith by providig a preorietatio program (ISP) ad ogoig programs i bakig ad fiace, work authorizatio, publicatios, vacatio housig, social evets ad iteratioal clubs.

Medical Services, Couselig Service ad Welless Educatio Schacht Ceter for Health ad Welless, The college s Medical Services, Couselig Service ad Welless Educuatio work together to provide accessible, quality medical care, metal health care ad welless educatio. As health care professioals kowledgeable about developmetal issues, the staff works with studets to promote their physical ad psychological well-beig ad collaborates with the larger college commuity to support studets i accomplishig their educatioal goals. Multicultural Affairs Clark Hall, This office addresses the eeds ad cocers of udergraduate studets of color. As the coordiator of the Bridge orietatio program, the director of multicultural affairs assists icomig studets of color i their trasitio to the Smith commuity ad liks studets to commuities withi ad outside of the college. The Office of Multicultural Affairs also coordiates a variety of cultural programs to erich campus life ad advises the ie Uity studet orgaizatios. Chapter 269, Sec A Act Icreasig the Pealties for Hazig Be it eacted by the Seate ad House of Represetatives i Geeral Court assembled, ad by the authority of the same, as follows: Chapter 269 of the Geeral Laws is hereby ameded by strikig out sectios 17 to 19, iclusive, ad isertig i place the followig three sectios: Sectio 17 Whoever is a pricipal orgaizer or participat i the crime of hazig, as defied herei, shall be puished by a fie of ot more tha $3,000 or by imprisomet i a house of correctio for ot more tha oe year, or both such fie ad imprisomet. The term hazig, as used i this sectio ad i sectios 18 ad 19, shall mea ay coduct or method of iitiatio ito ay studet orgaizatio, whether o public or private property, which willfully or recklessly edagers the physical or metal health of ay studet or other perso. Such coduct shall iclude whippig; beatig; bradig; forced calistheics; exposure to the weather; forced cosumptio of ay food, liquor, beverage, drug or other substace; or ay other brutal treatmet or forced physical activity that is likely to adversely affect the physical health or safety of ay such studet or other perso, or which subjects such studet or other perso to extreme metal stress, icludig exteded deprivatio of sleep or rest ad exteded isolatio. Notwithstadig ay other provisios of this sectio to the cotrary, coset shall ot be available as a defese to ay prosecutio uder this actio. Sectio 18 Whoever kows that aother perso is the victim of hazig as defied i sectio 17 ad is at the scee of such crime shall, to the extet that such perso ca do so without dager or peril to himself or others, report such crime to a appropriate law eforcemet official as soo as reasoably practicable. Whoever fails to report such crime shall be puished by a fie of ot more tha $1,000. Sectio 19 Each istitutio of secodary educatio ad each public ad private istitutio of postsecodary educatio shall issue to every studet group, studet team or studet orgaizatio which is part of such istitutio or is recogized by the istitutio or permitted by the istitutio to use its ame or facilities or is kow by the istitutio to exist as a uaffiliated studet group, studet team or studet orgaizatio, a copy of this sectio ad sectios 17 ad 18; provided, however, that a istitutio s compliace with this sectio s requiremets that a istitutio issue copies of this sectio ad sectios 17 ad 18 to uaffiliated studet groups, teams or orgaizatios shall ot costitute evidece of the istitutio s recogitio or evidece of ay uaffiliated studet groups, teams or orgaizatios.
