The etries are assessed by a esteemed team of judges. The fialists are showcased at a high profile exhibitio ad the wiig etries aouced as part of a glitterig awards ceremoy. 8 DESIGN OF THE GENERATION APPRENTICESHIP COMPETITION The Geeratio Appreticeship competitio ivites appretice teams to use their skills to reproduce large-scale versios of the Geeratio Appreticeship A brad. The competitio will be promoted atioally via a rage of media. The closig date for the competitio is 14 March Etries will be showcased durig March - April 2019 ad at a high profile celebratio evet i April. The etries will be judged by a idepedet pael of idustry ad educatio represetatives with expertise i desig ad egieerig. The wiig etry will stad as a permaet record of creativity, craft ad iovatio. AN AWARDS CEREMONY TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNING ENTRY AND RUNNERS UP WILL BE HELD IN EARLY APRIL 2019, FOLLOWING WHICH THE WINNING ENTRY WILL BECOME A PERMANENT INSTALLATION AT A PRE- IDENTIFIED LOCATION. 9 Curret appretices i all idustry sectors ad at all stages i their appreticeship will be eligible to participate. Appretices may compete as part of o- or off-the-job elemets of their appreticeship, with support from their employers/educatio ad traiig providers. There is o charge to eter the competitio. Etrats ca register to participate via GAcompetitio@solas.ie. All etries must coform to a specified height, width ad depth - H180cm x W160cm x D80cm. Etries may be costructed usig a diverse rage of materials, from paper to metal, pipig, electrical wirig, liquid, treated edible materials. The etries may icorporate various forms of techology, software as well as electricity ad other forms of eergy as part of the structure. They may be preseted i ay colour or combiatio of colours. Each etry must be supported by a short report o its desig ad creatio; this report may be preseted i a visual, audio or writte format. The costs (materials etc) of preparig competitio etries ad trasportig the fiished etry to the display veue must be covered by providers/employers. ROLE OF THE APPRENTICESHIP COUNCIL AND SOLAS The Appreticeship Coucil ad SOLAS will lead the orgaisatio of the competitio by developig ad hostig the competitio brief, etries, idepedet judgig ad maagig the awards ceremoy i April I approachig the Build your A creative brief, appreticeship teams will be supported by two ope-day workshops. Applicat teams will have the opportuity to discuss their ideas with experts. The competitio will be promoted by all orgaisatios represeted o the Appreticeship Coucil.
