After pressure reduction, the steam is distributed to preheat coils for the interior system and to secondary water loop heaters for the perimeter induction units.
8 Air Conditioning: The air distribution system incorporates variable air volume boxes to serve interior areas and constant volume perimeter induction units to serve offices along the exterior walls. Sophisticated computer systems (BAS) control the air handling units to conserve energy while optimizing indoor air quality. Chilled water for air conditioning is generated on site by energy efficient centrifugal chillers. Perimeter areas are cooled by either direct chilled water injection or by chilled water/heat exchangers in isolated loops. Supplemental HVAC is available 24 hours a day. Standard Hours of HVAC Operation: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to :00 PM Saturday ELECTRICITY: General Building-standard power consists of 6 watts per usable square foot, connected load, provided by Consolidated Edison (Con-Ed). Additional power is available based upon demonstrated need.
