Positively, the on-going technical quality audit of the JIS will help the government to update its strategy and plan of actions for finalizing and eventually rolling out the JIS. Also, the Croatian National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) is strengthening. The Geoportal, which provides spatial information to private and public audiences through internet, was upgraded last year and has received over 400 million hits during its first six months online. Also, a law on NSDI to implement the EU s INSPIRE Directive has been drafted. Page 1 of 9

2 Government's focus in improving the land registration system is paying dividends. The average property transaction time fell from 50 days to 37 days during the last quarter of 2012 and the percentage of land registration requests in backlog from 13,7% to 11,5%. In both cases, a previously negative trend was reversed. In addition, a new draft Registration Law is being considered by the Parliament for adoption in It foresees electronic transactions and a significant reduction to the number of courts operating land registers.
