The key indicators of the project include: (i) initiation of a plan to address constraints to local economic development by 2011; (ii) provision of urban services to households in slum areas; and (iii) rehabilitation and improvement of the existing macro-drainage system in the Northwest Zone with sufficient capacity to handle 25-year flood levels. Main terms of reference have been prepared. Some key consultancy services are being selected. The team is in Page 1 of 7

2 place and trained. Counterpart financed activities are advancing well to assist on the resettlement of inhabitants to improve the livelihood of people living in the project area. But, it is still too early to report on progress toward reaching the development objectives.
