3 Friday technical tour Multiple Friday technical tours are envisaged. The tours below can be confirmed at this early date, and more will follow as they develop. Technical tour 1: Delft Delft is a historical city known for a few things within the Netherlands: its coziness, its university, its pottery, and as home to the first king of the Netherlands. This tour will take in some of the best of Delft, with a very special focus on technology and large structural labs. The first highlight is a visit to the macro-laboratory of TU Delft, which is able to test very large structures in high loads. A new and important feature of this laboratory is the relatively new mega-hexapod, which can apply fatigue loading in six degrees of freedom in arbitrary phase up to 1 MN and 30 Hz. The second point of the tour is the Structural Dynamics lab of TNO. TNO is a research organization whose purpose is to bring academic research to application. Their lab features a flexible laboratory setup which is capable of applying fatigue or monotonic loading to structures in arbitrary combinations of load vectors with up to 1000 simultaneous sensors. The third point is focused on the history and art of Delft. A guided tour of the the famous Delft blue pottery factory will be given. Busses will depart from the conference venue at 9:00 and arrive at the pottery center at approximately 10:30. The group will be divided into subgroups of approximately 35 and go to the pottery center, walk to the TU Delft lab (14 minutes walking) or the TNO lab (another 5 minutes walking). The groups will reconvene for a catered lunch, then switch positions for the other two stations in the afternoon. Busses will leave Delft from 17:00 and arrive back in Amsterdam at 18:30. Dinner in the historical center of Delft and a later return time can also be arranged. Technical tour 2: Dutch water works The Dutch are known worldwide for the engineering that they have used to keep the water from flooding their country, which is largely below sea level. Some of these momentous works are not far from Amsterdam, which gives an excellent opportunity for a visit. This tour will travel to the Maeslantkering, which is a massive storm surge barrier that cuts off the Maas river to save the city of Rotterdam in the event of a sea surge. The arms of this structure each weigh 6800 tons. They each hing on a ball joint with a ball diameter of 10 meters. A 1.5-hour guided tour will be arranged, and a picnic lunch will be served near the barriers. After lunch, the group will re-board their busses for a driving tour of the Maasvlakte 2 project. This is an important part of the port of Rotterdam that was built on reclaimed land. This is also the home to the famous Allseas Pioneering Spirit, among many other famous specialty offshore ships. Early interaction with a ship owner has shown a willingness to give tours of ships in the Maasvlakte 2 port, but this can only be arranged closer to the date of the conference, so that ship owners know which ships (if any) are in port at the time. Arrangements can also be made with a local tour operator who can give boat tours of the Maasvlakte project. Busses will depart from Rotterdam at 9:00 and arrive at the Maeslantkering at 10:40. The tour of the Maeslantkering will take approximately 1.5 hours. Busses will leave the Maeslantkering at approximately 13:00, arrive at the Maeslantkering at approximately 14:00. If a ship is available for a tour, then the tour will be scheduled for approximately 1-2 hours. The bus or boat tour of the Maasvlakte, including explanation of the land reclamation process and stops at interesting points will last about 1-2 hours. Dinner can be arranged on the way back, if desired. A direct return trip would take approximately 2 hours. Bid book OMAE

8 Het Scheepvaartmuseum has its own kitchen and pastry department. Everything comes fresh from our own kitchen, from the biscuit at your coffee to the smoked fish for lunch. We specialize in 'Dutch Cuisine', using fine regional and seasonal products in a healthy ratio of vegetable-meat-fish, drawing inspiration from our own Dutch food culture. Dutch Cuisine is a new platform created by renowned Dutch chefs who share a vision of producing healthy, flavoursome food inspired by our national identity. Using this as a basis of his creations, chef Ralph Dahlhaus has had a lot of fun searching for and testing fine local products and coming up with surprising combinations for our menus. We also have another 'food nerd' in the person of our own pastry chef! Alongside putting together the most delicious desserts for our menus, Dario Korver also makes our biscuits! The Dutch Cuisine principle is also reflected in our range of drinks. Het Scheepvaartmuseum selects its ingredients and partners with care. For example, many of our soft drinks are produced locally and according to traditional methods. Saru Soda brews beautiful syrups with organic and natural ingredients in the most delicious flavours such as elderflower and blood orange. Our organic juices are pressed and bottled, not far from Amsterdam. Our fairtrade coffee comes from coffee roasting company Peeze and is a perfect accompaniment with a liqueur from Wynand Fockink, the oldest traditional liqueur distillery in Amsterdam. Why should we source products from further afield when Amsterdam and its surrounding area have such fantastic suppliers? 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Reception package The reception package contains everything needed for a successful get-together. The wooden floors and details, imposing ceilings and authentic windows need little extra. A beautiful floral arrangement, immaculate linen, and beautiful crockery and glassware complete the picture. Of course, much more is possible. Our team will be happy to help you to make sure your event s overall look and feel is spot-on. 11 An event at Het Scheepvaartmuseum means all-round service from security guard at the door to the employee who shows you the way. We believe in being friendly and helpful. During your event, your permanent contact person will be one of our enthusiastic event managers. We will provide more than enough well-trained employees. Our employees will be suitably dressed in black trousers, white shirt, and long, black halter aprons. It is also possible to coordinate employees clothing to your event. All our employees can communicate with your guests in the English and Dutch language. After opening hours of the museum we charge 50,00 per hour per security officer. The number of officers depends on the number of guests and the content of the event program. These costs apply after 6pm until end of event including dismantling. The price given is an estimate and is excluding VAT. Het Scheepvaartmuseum can take care of all those involved in making your event a success. We are happy to discuss your wishes and options for crew catering with you. All our Chambers are equipped with audiovisual facilities. These facilities are free of charge and include a beamer and screen. Please bring your own laptop from which you can play the presentation. You may also use four microphones: three wireless microphones in the form of headsets, or lapel microphones and one microphone with cable. You can also choose a Catchbox as microphone. We will contact you about the use of our audioviual resources, and your preferences, prior the event. If you wish, we can help you to put together the right entertainment for your event. 14 Summary of General Terms and Conditions governing offers made by the National Maritime Museum Amsterdam All bookings and instructions given to the Netherlands Maritime Museum Foundation, including the Maritime Museum Enterprise BV, hereinafter referred to as the Maritime Museum are governed by the General Conditions of the Maritime Museum, the Visitor Conditions of the Maritime Museum and, insofar as such have been agreed, the regulations governing w ork carried out in the Maritime Museum by third parties ( the Regulations ). The said General Conditions, Visitor Conditions and Regulations are published on the w ebsite of the Maritime Museum and also filed w ith the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce for Amsterdam under number A full version of this set of general conditions w ill be sent on request by the Maritime Museum. The conditions below represent a summarised version of the General Conditions. Insofar as there is any discrepancy betw een this summary and the General Conditions, then the text of the General Conditions shall take precedent. 1. Offers 1.1 All Offers from the Maritime Museum are entirely conditional and subject to contract. Information supplied by the Maritime Museum in, or together w ith, an Offer is approximate only. Until such time as a there is a binding Contract, the Maritime Museum is entitled to w ithdraw or amend any Offer w ithout needing to give reasons. 1.2 Acceptance of any Offer must be in full and unconditional. Part-acceptance is not permissible and w ill result in the relevant Offer being w ithdraw n. 2. Options 2.1 The booking of one or more dates for the organisation of an Event (options) is only valid if confirmed by the Maritime Museum in w riting. Unless specifically agreed otherwise, options will remain valid for fourteen (14) days. If an option is not exercised w ithin this period, it w ill automatically lapse. 3. Contract 3.1 A Contract betw een the Maritime Museum and the Client becomes binding once an Offer is accepted in w riting by the Client. Until the Offer is signed, the Maritime Museum is entitled to reject any instructions from the Client at any time w ithout the need to give reasons. 4. Cancellation 4.1 The Client is entitled to cancel all or part of a Contract w ith the Maritime Museum. In the event of full cancellation, the Client is liable to pay the Maritime Museum a sum equal to the percentages specified in section 2 of this article, i.e. percentages of the contract price as agreed betw een the Maritime Museum and the Client before the cancellation. 4.2 In the case of notice of cancellation more than six months before the date of the Event as agreed betw een the Parties, 10% of the contract price is payable; for notice of cancellation of six months or less, but more than three months, before the date of the Event, 25% is payable; for notice of cancellation of three months or less, but more than tw o months, before the date of the Event, 40% is payable; for notice of cancellation of tw o months or less, but more than fourteen days, before the date of the Event, 50% is payable; and for notice of cancellation of fourteen days or less before the date of the Event, 100% is payable. 4.3 In the case of cancellation of one or more parts of the Event to be organised by the Maritime Museum, such as the number of Guests and/or the part of the programme and/or the activity, the aforesaid percentages shall be applied to such part of the contract price as is related to the parts that are the subject of the cancellation. 4.4 If in an agreed Offer the Price is not specified per part, the Maritime Museum shall charge such Price as is reasonable, having regard to all the relevant facts. 5. Prices and payment 5.1 The Maritime Museum may require the Client at any time to pay the Maritime Museum a deposit equal to the contract price as specified in the Offer. The received deposit w ill be properly administered and only used as security for the contract price by the Maritime Museum. 5.2 Unless specified otherw ise in the Offer, the Maritime Museum applies the follow ing payment scheme on the basis of the follow ing percentages of the total price as specified in the Offer as agreed by the Client, and on the basis that such payment is made w ithin tw o w eeks of the invoice date: 10% w ithin tw o w eeks of the Client signing the Offer; Pagina 11 van Bid book OMAE 2023

15 40% w ithin no less than tw o months preceding the date of the Event; 40% w ithin no less than one month preceding the date of the Event; - 10% w ithin tw o w eeks follow ing the conclusion of the Event. 5.3 The Maritime Museum may set off the Price agreed w ith the Client against any advance payment or deposit paid by the Client to the Maritime Museum. Any credit balance in favour of the Client shall be returned to the Client by the Maritime Museum as soon as possible. 6. Guarantee of turnover 6.1 If and insofar as the Client provides the Maritime Museum w ith a guarantee of turnover regarding certain catering services, it must pay the Maritime Museum as a minimum the amount involved in providing these catering serv ices. 7. Settlement and payment 7.1 The Client is responsible for paying the agreed price as specified in the Offer. If and insofar as the Offer is agreed by the Client more than tw elve months before the date of the Event, the Maritime Museum may adjust the price in line w ith price increases as at the date of the Event up to a maximum of 5% per annum. Any and all changes to the VAT rate or other taxes (e.g. city tax) may be passed on to the Client. The below -signed Client acknow ledges and agrees to the content of the Offer and the General Conditions (and the above summary thereof) as proof of w hich agreement it has signed the Offer and a copy of the General Conditions.
