2 photo: Lutz Korn photo: Arne Hofmann T-Mobile Headquarters Landgrabenweg Bonn T-Mobile's corporate management were looking for an innovative way of stamping their identity on their new Bonn headquarters They gave the commission to ag4 mediatecture who subsequently realized the world's first transparent media-façade, a harmonious combination of architecture and media A 30m-wide, 10m-high glass façade already under construction could not take any additional weight Vertical beams were therefore set in front of it and statically connected to the building's steel construction Most of the electronic components were integrated into these beams Over light emitting diodes are attached to horizontal aluminium slats (3 cm deep by 1 cm thick) which were custom-made to make the specially designed waterproof LED-cards The large pixel distance creates the transparency of the construction The building's identity is signalled by logo-animations, graphics and videos showing the corporate culture and support events inside and outside the company's headquarters photo: Arne Hofmann Project is not public! 2004 Lighting designer ag4 LUMINO Lichttechnik GmbH T-Mobile Deutschland GmbH + T-Mobile International Kirsten_Hannema 2
