10 Where are we now - Impact of SHQS If all social housing stock is upgraded to meet the SHQS energy criteria then SHCS estimates: Energy reduced (GJ) by 14% C02 reduced by 13% Corresponding energy efficiency ratings would be 7 now, 8 if brought up to SHQS Once these upgrades are in place the mean CO2 emissions will be 3.9t which reflects a 53% decrease in emissions since 1990 (using the mean as baseline)
