Membership: Ms Helen Ellison will be stepping down from the DAC at the end of October, as she is leaving the Solihull local authority and moving to Bath and North East Somerset Council. Mr Ross Brazier (one of the two Planning and Conservation Officers at Birmingham City Council) has indicated that he would be willing to join the DAC as the new local authority representative. Mr Mann to report. The Committee to NOTE. 2. Church heating report: A study on church heating has been produced by the Diocese of Lichfield, to help parishes with their heating system. Dr Hodder reported that he was satisfied with the proposed scheme of archaeological investigation that would be carried out in advance of the reordering works. Dr Berrow commented that he was extremely thankful to the parish for its hard work and perseverance in developing these major reordering proposals for such a significant church building and he wished the project every success. The Committee RECOMMENDED the petition, provided that: 1) the wiring routes for the new lighting system were agreed by the DAC before the installation took place; and 2) the parish's submitted scheme of archaeological work was carried out before the reordering works commenced.] The parish was in touch on 17 October to discuss updated proposals for work to create 17 car parking spaces within the church grounds, as part of the major reordering project. The Committee ENDORSED the caseworkers' advice and NOTED the position.] The Archdeacon went to view a bench made of recycled plastic installed in another churchyard, in order to help him resolve the case. The memorial is 73cm wide and 61cm high, and weighs 11.5kg. The mounting brackets proposed will take a weight of 30.5kg and, for extra security, two small screws will be put either side of the memorial so that it cannot move sideways or be removed easily from the wall. Mr Bridges reported, in writing, that the casework sub-committee of the Victorian Society would be visiting the church on 9 October, to discuss the significant proposals.
