Reduced Breakfast at 75 on Tuesday mornng Sept 2 wll be the frst meal arranged and served to the college by Msses Lllan G Chard and Mldred Kmball new college dettans The coffee shop opened Monday mornng Sept 3th has been servng set- up meals to members of the football squad who returned early for practce Meals are planned about a week n advance accordng to Msses Chard and Kmball and an attempt wll be made to serve more fresh rather than canned vegetables as well as more hot breads at noon As before home recpes as suggested by students are acceptable f practcal n the coffee shop the dettans have attempted to reduce prces as well as makng meals more complete n some cases t s the hope of Msses Chard and Kmball that a Perce Hall Commttee can be formed A commttee made up of one man from each dvson to represent student feelng toward the commons So that the commttee can be actve mmedately dvson heads are asked to appont one man n each dvson to see Mss Chard and Mss Kmball wthn the next two weeks NEW SQUASH COURT BULT Enthusasm n squash aroused by the nstallaton of the squash court bult n the basement of Rosse Hall last year has resulted n the constructon of a second court The new court Akron last June 27th umped nto frst place thereby tyng wth Leland Stanford Unverstys score of 4 ponts The Kenyon flyers wound up the frst days events consstng of bomb- droppng and 80- degree spot landngs wth no score whatever to ther credt The followng day they ht ther strde and came up from behnd takng frst place n the bulls eye landng and n paper straffng Wth other secondary placements they obtaned fourteen ponts tyng Leland Stanford for frst place Hgh score man for the Kenyon team was Clark Henderson who has been hgh scorer n every Kenyon ar meet snce and ncludng the Natonal ar meet of of the Pennsylvana ralroad to stop servce of two of ts trans between Columbus and Akron has agan become acute The State Utltes Commsson has set Sept 22 at 0 a m for further hearng on the applcaton of rngng applause or proper consderaton due hm s Dr John Drake 24 of Mt Vernon As much as the wllngness wth whch he gves free medcal advce to Kenvon men s known few of the many men n school who have called upon hs servces realze the dffcultes he must undergo n attemptng to mesh agreeably the needs of hs regular Mt Vernon practce and the Kenyon men who call at hs offce Drake has devoted hs lfe to the pursut of medcal care and hs excellence has bult up a practce that s large and must consequently be tremendously trng Chef mposton placed upon Dr Drake s due to the ncomplete understandng of Kenyon men n regard to the medcal attenton whch the college offers through the yearly medcal fee Result of the msunderstandng s that servces gven by Drake are not pad by the student who beleves that the oblgaton of payment rests upon the college and are not pad by the college whch s under no contract to pay the blls Consequently Dr Drake who has readly gven hs tme and advce receves no fee Hours
