In addition, the Member must have attained the age of 75. If approved by the EDCAR Board of Directors and C.A.R., the Member will be granted Honorary Memberfor-Life and their local and state dues shall be deemed paid in full for life commencing the year following approval.

3 The EDCAR Voice Page 2 Message from the President C.A.R. Legislative Day, 2015 is right around the corner. This years event will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at the Sacramento Convention Center. I would encourage every Member to join fellow REALTORS and attend this informative and fun event. It begins in the morning at 9 a.m. with a Legislative Briefing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins and Assembly Republican Leader Kristin Olsen will speak at the morning briefing. They will discuss issues affecting our industry including housing affordability. In addition, Governor Jerry Brown has been invited to speak. The C.A.R. Legislative staff will also provide an Issues Briefing on key legislation affecting our industry. After the morning briefing you can walk over to the Capitol with all the other attendees. In the afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. there will be a Member Director Forum, also held at the Convention Center. This forum will offer a comprehensive update on key industry issues; legal and regulatory topics that the Directors will be considering during these meetings. Then in the evening, a Capitol Reception will be held across the street from the Convention Center at the Grand Nave Ballroom in the Sheraton Grand Hotel. The event will start at 5:30 and last through 7:30 p.m. This is a chance to meet and talk with many of the invited Legislators. For those who have paid $ to RAF, The True Cost of Doing Business the event is free. There is a cost for everyone else. In order to attend Legislative Day or other committee meetings, you will need a badge to identify you. We can order a pre-printed badge for you if you let us know before April 9, 2015 that you wish to attend. Please pbartosh@edcar.org or call the Association at C.A.R. will be hosting a Legislative Day 101 Webinar. The webinar is Scheduled for April 14 and 16, time is to be determined. The webinar will give you an overview of what to expect at Legislative Day. For a Tentative Schedule for the C.A.R. 10 Page 9 EDCAR Members Giving Back In 2014 alone, EDCAR s Community Outreach Committees and Task Forces have raised over $48,000: The Honor Our Troops Committee which sends care packages to troops oversees and is now partnering with the American Legion to offer scholarships to returning Veterans from our County raised over $14,000 at the breakfast in January and the Spaghetti Feed in October. CanTree Charities raised $20,000 in 2014 for the Food Bank, Upper Room and New Morning; The Annual EDCAR Golf Tournament raised over $13,000 to distribute between CASA, The Center for Violence Free Relationships and the local high school music programs; The YPN group (Young Professionals Network) held an event that raised over $1600 for Sierra Child and Family Services CanTree fundraising events at the Weekly Tours, Turkey Bowl and Can Stacking Contest
