12 2018 Project Team Awards 2018 Project Team Awards Committee Event Co-Chairs: Amar Shamas, Gilbane Building Company Martin Onorato, Robinson+Cole Robert May, Fuss & O Neill EnviroScience Members: Robert Barrack, Robinson + Cole Charles Browne, Turner Construction Company Richard Bergan, Bergan Architectural Woodworking Theresa Casey, CBC / On Target Marketing William Clegg, STV/DPM Christopher Cykley, Construction Services Company Grace DelStritto, CBC Catherine Ellithorpe, The S/L/A/M Collaborative Kristine Nemeth, Arcadis U.S., Inc. Kurt Prochorena, BSC Group Nathan Whetten, Freeman Companies Project Team Awards Judging Criteria The Project Team Awards honor outstanding building projects that exemplify project team excellence and represent the best practices in teamwork by project owners, architects, engineers, construction managers and trades. Each year, CBC recognizes projects whose team members have met or surpassed goals and achieved higher project quality through this close collaboration. Eligibility The construction project must be located in Connecticut and have been substantially completed between January 1, 2016 and December 31, Judging Criteria Documented team cooperation and collaboration from conceptual design through project completion (60%) Team s approach to the project s unique challenges (20%) Meeting the owner s budget and schedule constraints (10%) Project s social, economic or sustainable design considerations (10%) To determine the Project Team of the Year Award, the Judges reviewed the first place winning entries in each category and reached a consensus on one project that stood out above all the rest in terms of the Judging Criteria. Policies Judges review, score and comment on all entries in each category. Judges that have a current working relationship with a submitting firm or other conflicts of interest are recused from the judging process. If a winner cannot be agreed upon, the project with the highest score in the Project Team Cooperation Category will be deemed the project with the higher score, followed by each successive criterion, if necessary, until a tie is broken. 10
