Mr.CHAN Wing Kai Aaron was nominated to the CIC for its Task Force on BIM Standards Phase Practices Matters Proposed Security of Payment Legislation (SOPL) HKIA met Development Bureau (DEVB) to discuss the default adjudicator nomination procedure and formation of Adjudicator Nominating Body (ANB) and adjudication of time-related disputes under SOPL on 12 November In reply to the letter of DEVB dated 22 January 2018 regarding the draft proposal on register of ANB, HKIA, AAP, HKIS and ACQS issued a joint enquiry letter dated 7 March 2018 to DEVB enquiring the draft proposal. HKIA, AAP, HKIS and ACQS also issued a joint letter dated 7 March 2018 to DEVB to further pursue the discussion with DEVB on excluding from SOPL adjudication the decision on Extension of Time claim. Building Information Modelling (BIM) HKIA met DEVB to discuss about the road map of BIM Implementation on major government capital works from 2018 onwards on 21 November HKIA also conducted a survey among all registered practices to collect information regarding experience and readiness on BIM adoption in January Consultation by DEVB on Proposed Policy on Buildability HKIA First Quarterly General Meeting Honorary Secretary Report 22 March out of 14

2 Evaluation for Public Building Projects HKIA represented in the exchange session held on 15 August 2017 and briefing session on 4 December Stakeholders Engagement Interviews Representatives of BP participated in the following 3 stakeholders engagement interviews for the following studies : Study for Reference Materials on Selection of Contractors of CIC on 7 February 2018 Study on the feasibilities of adopting Modular Integrated Construction for high-rise buildings in Hong Kong of DEVB on 22 February 2018 Study for Improving Time, Cost and Quality Performance of the Hong Kong Construction Industry of CIC on 28 February Completed Projects HKIA Expert Witness Seminar Series 2017 The 5evening seminar series 2017 was successfully held between 15 November 2017 and 1 December Board of Local Affairs (BLA) 1. Nominations Mr. LAU Kam Sing Dickie was appointed by Construction Industry Council (CIC) as a member of Taskforce on Work Safety of Repair, Maintenance, Alterations and Additions (RMAA) Sites for the term of office between 1 December 2017 and 31 January Mr. CHAN Chung Yee Albert was appointed by CIC for Construction Workers Review Board for the new term of 3 years commencing 1 February Mr. LI Kwok Hing Felix was re-nominated, and Mr. AU YEUNG Chi King Artur and Mr. KWAN Siu Lun were nominated to BD for Building Safety Loan Scheme Vetting Committee for a new term of 2 years commencing 1 February Mr. CHAN Cho Sing Joel was nominated to CIC to represent in the Steering Committee for Consultancy Study on Improving the Environmental Performance of the Hong Kong Construction Industry of CIC. Mr. HAI Tuen Tai Freddie was nominated to CIC to represent in the Steering Committee for Consultancy Study on Improving Time, Cost and Quality Performance of the Hong Kong Construction Industry of CIC. Mr. TAM Kwok Chi was appointed as a member of Asbestos Administration Committee for the new term of two years with effect from 8 March Mr. TONG Yee Hang Arthur and Ms. WONG Hoi Yan Ella were nominated to Home Affairs Department for consideration of appointment to the Appeal Board (Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation), Appeal Board (Clubs (Safety of Premises)) and Appeal Board (Bedspace Apartments) for the new of office of two years commencing 21 April The following members were nominated for Land and Development Advisory Committee and its Subcommittees for HKIA First Quarterly General Meeting Honorary Secretary Report 22 March out of 14

Local Affairs The Institute participated in the following stakeholders engagement interviews to give views on the following subjects : Consultancy study on prefabricated components in Hong Kong of CIC represented by BLA on 2 February Consultancy study on review of mechanism for encouraging quality built environment through GFA concession of BD represented by BLA and Buildings and Lands Committee on 12 February Study on the feasibilities of adopting modular integrated construction for high-rise buildings in Hong Kong of DEVB represented by BLA and BP on 22 February Consultancy study on improving time, cost and quality performance of the Hong Kong construction industry of CIC represented by BLA and BP on 28 February The Taskforce on Land Supply formed under BLA held a members forum on 9 February 2018 and met invited media on 12 February 2018 to give views on selected land supply initiatives. Community Housing Movement Project HKIA, being one of the partners of the Project, represented in the Steering Committee as well as sending members as volunteers for the Working Group on Flat Production. The Work Group would inspect if the housing flats are suitable for inclusion in the Project, to advise on basic standards and technical specifications for renovation, to help draft tender document for appointment of Authorized Persons managing the renovation projects, and to vet and advise repair and renovation project proposals. 3. CPD Events Eco Expo Asia 2017 Being a supporting organization, HKIA staged an exhibition booth in the Eco Expo Asia 2017 held between October 2017, showcasing the entries of Architectural Sustainability under Special Architectural Award of HKIA Annual Awards Old Town Central Lamppost Design Competition Old Town Central was an initiative launched by Hong Kong Tourism Board aiming at positioning Central as a must-visit contemporary hub with arts and culture, historic architecture, food & wine and entertainment elements. The competition was to invite entries to develop thematic design for any one of the 2 main lamp post clusters along Hollywood Road. HKIA was one of the supporting organizations for the Competition. 4 The following CPD events were held by BLA and its Committees : Joint CPD seminar by HKIA and PGBC on Overseas Green Initiatives on 30 October 2017 CPD Site Visit to Hung Fuk Estate on 9 December 2017 CPD Site Visit to WEEE Park, the 1st Integrated E-waste Treatment Project on 16 December 2017 CPD site visit to Yim Tin Tsai on 6 January 2018 Joint CPD seminar by PGBC, HKIA and HKIUD on A Tale of Two Villages on 23 January 2018 and 29 January 2018 Board of Educational Affairs (BEdA) 1. Continuing Return of CPD Declaration Form 2017 Professional Deadline of submission : 30 September 2017 Development Up to 27 January 2018, 4,217 of 4,314 members (97.8%) had (CPD) submitted their CPD Declaration Forms. 91 members who had not submitted the form had deemed zero CPD hour for year members who failed to fulfill the CPD requirements in 2016 and 2017 had their membership terminated on 27 January ,359 members (77.9%) who submitted their CPD Declaration Forms before the deadline had received e-learning CPD coupons 2018 for viewing online CPD videos as a token of appreciation. CPD Checking Panel 2017 Around 3.1% (119 forms) of the 3,835 submitted CPD Declaration Form 2017 were randomly selected and 53 members were requested to provide further details on the CPD activities that they had declared in their forms. All of the selected members had submitted the CPD Record Forms and all the forms were checked in order except one member. Call for submission of proposals for CPD events Deadline of submission : 28 February EOIs received CPD Research Fund 2015 Two awardees research reports were published in the HKIA Journal Issue 73 in December 2017 and the remaining 50% fund had been released to the awardees. CPD Research Fund 2016 The awardee (Mr. LEUNG Man Kit, Mr. CHUI Pak Chung Patrick and Mr. IP Chung Man Tony) submitted the research report to HKIA before the deadline on 13 October Subject to the fulfillment of the pre-requisite of posting in one of the architectural journals, the remaining half of the grants (HK$12,500) would be released to the awardee. Education Development & Accreditation (EDAC) Accreditation of Architectural Programmes of Chu Hai College of Higher Education (Chu Hai College) Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architectural Programme has been granted an Unconditional Term of Accreditation of Part I (pre-professional) for five years until 2022 and Master of Architecture Programme has been granted a Conditional Term of Accreditation of Part II (Professional) for five years until Accreditation of Architectural Programme of City University of Hong Kong (City U) Re-validation visit to City U for validation of Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architectural Studies programmes was conducted on 5 7 December Upon acceptance of the school, the Visiting Board report will be signed for Council and ARB s endorsement. Professional Assessment (PA) HKIA-ARB PA th Quarter Papers 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8 Passing rates are as follows: Paper % Statutory Controls in Building Works Paper % Building Contracts, Professional Practice, Professional Conduct, Conditions of Agreement & Scale of Charges Paper % Site Design Paper % Building Design Paper % Case Study 84 candidates passed all written papers and were eligible Professional Interview. Assessment Review Committee would review the appeal applications for the results. Non-Local Architectural Professional Admission out of 12 applicants passed Papers 1 and 2 in PA 2017 and were eligible for Professional Interview. Sponsorship M Arch Graduation Show XXII from CUHK architectural students body was sponsored for HK$4,000 Board of Mainland Affairs (BMA) 1. Development on Qianhai Design Competition Qianhai To attract more Hong Kong young architects and students to get involved in the development of Qianhai, a Qianhai Design Competition organized by Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen, commissioned by HKIA and Shenzhen Qianhai Development & Investment Holding Co., Ltd has been calling for registration and submission. Development on Belt and Road Seminar on Strategies and Opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative - Leveraging Hong Kong's Advantages, Meeting the Country's Needs ( 國家所需香港所長 共拓一帶一路策略機遇 論壇 ) Date: 3 February 2018 Venue: Beijing, PRC Organizer: HKSAR Belt and Road Office HKIA Representatives: President Mr. Marvin CHEN Vice President Mr. Felix LI President Mr. Marvin CHEN was one of the speakers at the second thematic session on "Complementary co-operation with Hong Kong's professional services" ( 與香港專業服務互補合作, 共同推動 一帶一路 建設 專題環節 ) to discuss the unique edges of Hong Kong architectural sector and modes of collaboration amongst Hong Kong and PRC enterprises in infrastructure projects along the Belt and Road countries/cities.
