1 They say life is a journey, but sometimes it s about the destination Welcome to The Fetherling The Fetherling will be Lake Barrington s newest premiere community. When you sign your contract, you will be working with the following team: The kitchen is the heart of the home and needs to show the flair that is individual to you. Julie Loehner, CKD of Kitchens by Julie, is just the person to help you make your kitchen dreams come true. With 30 years of experience, Julie will guide you through the process of cabinet, counter top and appliance selections, from the style to the finish. She will also work with you to make your bathrooms fit your home. The most used part of your home is arguably the flooring. It creates a warmth and feel that carries throughout your home. You will be working with Mike Levin at M & L Flooring America to select your hardwood, carpet and tile. You can be confident that Mike will make your flooring experience as smooth as those gleaming hardwood floors or that perfect tile you have been dreaming of. The lighting fixtures in your home are like the cherry on a sundae, icing on a cake, or that piece of jewelry that completes an outfit. Idlewood Electric has been serving the Chicagoland area for over 55 years and they have the perfect options to illuminate your home. We are working with Abt Electronics to offer you the largest selection of appliances for your home. The good news is Julie will help you select appliances to fit your kitchen, but you can always go see them in person at Abt s showroom. 3 The Fetherling History The Fetherling is rich in history. Built in the early 1900 s, by the Hurt family, it originally served as a farmhouse. Over the years, the property has been expanded and has seen many uses. Historically, Lake and McHenry counties were rife with mob activity. During the Prohibition years, the property was rumored to store illegal Canadian Whiskey, making its way down to the speakeasies and private clubs in Chicago. For a time in the early 1900 s the Lake Forest Armour family used it as a retreat and hunting lodge. As the years passed, it was also used as a school, but not for traditional teachings, but rather for schooling on tax evasion. It then changed hands to a Swedish company specializing in kidney dialysis and research and for the past 30 years it was used as the world headquarters for a printing press automation controls business. The Fetherling s stately presence and tudor architecture have been a cornerstone in the Lake Barrington landscape for nearly a century. With its four centered arch and split timber construction, it takes you back to years gone by. It is time for the next chapter in the Fetherling s history. Our mission is to restore and preserve the integrity of this unique property, while blending it with the new, so you too can own a piece of Lake Barrington history. The Fetherling will offer maintenance free living.
