3 Quality matters. 455 WEST 20TH STREET Project Type Condominiums Owner/Developer The Brodsky Org Beyer Blinder Belle General Contractor Ryder, Inc. 17,840 vertical-stacked water-source heat pumps installed in NYC Engineer Contractor Edwards & Zuck P.I. This project was designed for ultra-luxury living in a very desirable neighborhood. The Omega Gold Series product was used in the design for its ultimate performance in acoustics and was very effective during construction with the full-slab height cabinets and intermediate flexible connections. We used a flange-less access panel with a taped-in edge and custom paint (to match wall) in order to conceal the product while providing the superior level of access provided with all of our installations. In addition to the residential heat pump products, HTS also provided some custom water-source heat pumps to provide the necessary outside-air make up to the building while utilizing plate-frame heat exchangers to decrease required mechanical cooling and provide free reheating for neutral-air delivery. These units were designed to fit through an existing window in the landmark facade of the lowrise portion of the project. Omega manufactures the quietest water-source heat pumps (WSHPs) of its kind. As such, they are most often used in high-end, sound-sensitive applications like luxury condominiums and 5-star hotels in NYC. Each project is specifically managed by trained professionals who are familiar with the Engineer WSP Flack + Kurtz Contractor A.D. Winston Corporation design and business end of high rise facilities. Because of this attention to detail and customer service, we find clients coming back again and again. We work with everyone involved in the construction process, from owners and engineers to develop the initial designs, to the general and mechanical contractors who are doing the installations. Simply put, we can do it all. This project was not only impressive in the numbers (900 heat pumps), but also in the unique aspects of the job. We developed custom return-access panels to accommodate smaller space allocations and incorporated a 2-stage fan sequence for optimal dehumidification control and acoustics. Our project management team was put to the test with the sheer size of the project, but they handled it with ease and professionalism. The project went so well that it led to the developer to use HTS for 250 South, another large-scale project that needed 1400 units. 4 5
