2 Quality Rating How the Overall Quality Rating is Achieved When VisitEngland assessors visit your property, they will evaluate and give a quality score to all aspects of the accommodation and service. The total of all these scores establishes an overall percentage score for quality. Based on this score, establishments will be given an overall quality rating on a scale of One to Five Stars, based on the chart below, as long as all minimum entry requirements for the star rating are met. There are five levels of quality ranging from One to Five Stars. 5 Exterior Owners have worked very hard on refurbishing the courtyard, with traditional cobbles. Drainage has also been improved and the side path is being upgraded as per courtyard. Cleanliness Both cottages displayed outstanding standards of cleanliness and housekeeping throughout with all surfaces, furniture and fittings pristine. This is a real highlight of the property and a testament to the hard work of the owners. The public areas are immaculate with flooring well vacuumed/mopped, surfaces spotless and the outside entrance very well maintained giving a superb first impression to the property. Bedrooms are presented to an exemplary standard with all furniture and fittings dust free, inside and out. Clear attention has been paid to all high and low areas with these also being spotless. Bathroom kept pristine with chrome and glass fittings polished to a shine. Tile grouting was clean and fresh with obvious attention taken to wet areas. Kitchen appliances grease free, no crumbs found in the drawers/cupboards, fridge seals pristine, bin fresh and sink trap clean. Well done! Management & Efficiency All marketing, enquiries and bookings are now handled by the owners. Guests are welcomed by the owners who live onsite and a welcome pack is provided on arrival that includes a tea tray and general cleaning materials. Guest information files are well presented and list all the required emergency, owner and local area contact details. Public Areas The public areas are very well presented with mark free decoration, very good quality carpeting and comfortable easy seating. All curtains have been dry cleaned and ready for the season ahead. Bedrooms All bedrooms also kept very tidy and well presented- carpeting, sturdy furniture, comfortable beds, paint work and pristine bed linen all kept fresh and well maintained. Bathrooms Very neat, tidy and well presented bathroom facilities noted. All tiling, sealant and grouting kept pristine. The slate flooring in is beautiful feature. Trewerry Cottages 5 of

Website Feedback A Google search using a laptop for "Trewerry Cottages" displayed the dedicated website listing on the first page and also a first page of results relating to the properties. Website reviewed: The website is not mobile optimised and was checked using Google Mobile-Friendly Test. Guests can easily check availability, tariffs and make a booking online via the website. The website listing for the property accurately describes the accommodation and facilities, including maximum occupancy numbers. Clear images used, accurately reflecting the accommodation provided. Policies and property features clearly listed. The correct star rating and VisitEngland star rating logo is prominently listed. Access guide link is provided for each cottage. Potential for Improvement The Bowgie- glassware quantity needs checking. Highlights The main update for this year has been the refurbishment of the courtyard with the lovely new cobbles, this has really transformed the area shared by both cottages. Highlights include the peaceful countryside location, excellent cleaning levels, log burners in both cottages, ample off road parking, pet friendly and comfortable beds. Trewerry Cottages 6 of

9 Useful Numbers Customer Services All establishment enquiries, including assessments, reports, ratings, credit control, signage and logo requests. VisitEngland Inspection Appeals Procedure Proprietors who wish to appeal against the results of a VisitEngland assessment carried out at their establishment must follow the procedure outlined below: 1. Any appeal must be made in writing to VisitEngland Assessment Services within 21 days of the original report being received. 2. The Appeal should detail the main reason for the appeal. 3. Should the appeal be about the level of star rating proprietors should ensure that their establishment meets all the necessary minimum requirements outlined in the Quality Standards booklet (a PDF or hard copy may be requested from Customer Services). 4. Appeals will be formally acknowledged within 7 working days of receipt of the appeal together with a form to organise an appeal visit on a day basis. 5. The appeal visit will be subject to a non-refundable fee which will not be organised until full payment had been received. 6. Once the application and fee is received, an appeal visit from a member of the senior assessor team will take place within 4-6 weeks of receipt (Subject to the establishment's availability). 7. The findings of the appeal visit will be fed back in the normal way of both discussions and a report following the visit. 8.
