I enjoyed participating in the convention business meeting when I first served as my chapter s delegate, and have participated in every convention since. 9 J O H N C O N W A Y Vitruvius Initiated April 17, 2010 State College, Pennsylvania N A T I O N A L Colony Director [2015-Present] Mentored student groups (known as colonies) in completing the various petition requirements needed to establish a chapter of Alpha Rho Chi. Advised students on the process required to plan and host successful professional, philanthropic, fundraising, brotherhood, and recruitment events. Strategized with the colony to create a plan to build a positive reputation on campus and begin to draw interest from students, faculty, and the local community. Coordinated with university faculty to plan on-campus events as well as gain status with the university as a registered student organization on campus. Additionally worked with the colony to gain incorporation status with the state. Developed template governing documents for colonies to adopt in order to satisfy university, state, and fraternity requirements. Advised students on format and composition of the colony portfolio, which would be submitted to the national fraternity for review and approval upon the completion of all petition requirements. Worked with Amenophis [Southern Illinois University, ], Theodorus [University of Tennessee, ], and Agamedes [University of Miami, ]. National Ritual Committee [ ] Costume Guide [Fall 2015] Led a team through the research and production of a guide designed to instruct the proper design and methods of all Ritual costumes. Created a database documenting the proper sewing technique, colors, materials, and accessories for all costumes. Worked with a sketch artist to create accurate depictions of each costume based on their description, instructions provided, and historical precedent. Organized all of the instructions and drawings collected into a booklet to be distributed to each chapter. Assembled the physical document for distribution, overseeing the process of printing and assembly of the booklet. Oversaw the construction of costumes for several chapters based on the instructions and drawings provided to ensure accuracy prior to distribution. Distributed at Leadership Conference at The University of Washington in The Rise [Fall 2014] Attended Olynthius installation to oversee a wheelchair bound candidate s initiation. Documented the process of the candidate going through Ritual, noting the changes that needed to be taken into consideration for a wheelchair. Generated a set of diagrams and listed observations showing how spaces were adapted to accommodate a wheelchair and the unique travel pattern. Issued at Leadership Conference at Florida International University in ALUMNI Vitruvius Alumni Association [2014-Present] Grube Scholarship Committee [2017-Present] Served on a selection committee to award funding to a Penn State architecture student their upcoming study abroad experience. Reviewed applications provided by the university and selected a recipient. Secretary [2016-Present] Coordinated and organized the Alumni Association s newsletter, providing updates on the status of the active chapter, alumni association, and national fraternity. Recorded meeting minutes during executive board conference calls. Continued the roles and responsibilities of the Historian position. Historian [ ] Created and managed a big/little brother family tree of the chapter s membership dating back to the early 1990 s. Coordinated semesterly with the active chapter to ensure the document was kept up to date. Additionally a member of the Domitian and Senenmut Alumni Associations. L O C A L APXNYC Metro Group [2014-Present] Created and managed a job database for local firms that brothers worked at to serve as a resource for anyone considering a career change. Planned, advertised, and attended happy hours and events hosted at various locations throughout New York City intended to unite active brothers and alumni from the area. Created and managed the Instagram account for the metro group [@apxnyc].

10 A C T I V E Worthy Advisor [2014] Assured order was maintained during weekly chapter meetings according to Robert s Rules of Order. Maintained and updated the chapter s Constitution and Bylaws throughout the semester, as the chapter went through several major changes in their organizational structure. Served as a member of the executive board, providing insight on pivotal decisions to make based on past personal experiences and knowledge of historical precedent regarding the chapter and national fraternity. Worthy Architect [ ] Led the weekly chapter meeting, ensuring that the business agenda was properly followed and all necessary items were addressed in a reasonable time frame. Served as the chapter s delegate at Interfraternity Council [IFC] meetings where each fraternity s president was represented to voice their organization s concerns and work together to improve the Greek community, the university, and campus life. Served as a member of the executive board, leading regularly scheduled meetings between the board. Attended the fraternity s annual Leadership Conference, serving as the chapter s representative to discuss common issues chapters face and strategies to address them. Worthy Associate Architect [ ] Oversaw professional, philanthropic, and activities committees, attending committee meetings to observe the progress of event planning and provide insight where needed. Served as a member of the executive board, taking on the responsibilities of the office of president in their absence. Led an initiative to strengthen bonds with nearby chapters through a series of social events and visits to other universities. Activities Chairperson [ ] Planned and organized social activities aimed at helping strengthen the bond between brothers of the chapter. Planned, organized, and hosted the chapter s annual formal event. Tasks included room reservation, catering arrangement, event advertising, and distributing invitations to other chapters and alumni. Ritual Director [ ] Led initiative to re-examine the chapter s local ritual as part of a national effort to ensure incoming members were receiving a positive pledging and initiation experience. Several changes were proposed to the chapter and administered for the betterment of the local chapter and overall initiation experience for incoming members. Created a schedule of events for the chapter s semesterly initiation. Ensured that the schedule was being followed accurately and each event was executed to the standards of that national fraternity during the day of initiation. Attended initiations hosted by nearby chapters to gain an understanding on how the process differed at various universities. Served as a resource to those chapters, providing insight on possible changes to make to their overall process to improve the experience. House Manager [ ] Created a weekly chores list that all tenants and brothers were required to complete in order to maintain a clean and orderly house. Organized an annual work weekend over the summer where actives and alumni would work together on projects intended to improve areas of the house in need of repair. Worked closely with the Vitruvius Alumni Association to address any house issues that needed immediate attention during the course of the academic year. Served as the chapter s liaison with the borough of State College, representing the chapter during fire and code inspection. New Member Educator [2011] Created and followed a weekly lesson plan consisting of presentations, lectures, quizzes, and assignments focusing on the history and traditions of Alpha Rho Chi. Led weekly lectures for the pledge class, educating them of the history of Alpha Rho Chi and the Vitruvius Chapter. Assigned a pledge project for the class to complete over the course of the semester. Several milestone dates were set to review the progress of the project and provide feedback on the next steps to take. Fundraising Chairperson [2010, 2013] Secured a water stand through the university where brothers would sell food and beverages during home football games during the fall in return for a percentage of the revenue earned. Registered the chapter to participate in various percentage based fundraising events with local businesses. Designed and created fraternity merchandise to be sold to brothers of the local chapter as well as other chapters and alumni. Webmaster [2010, 2012] Managed the chapter s website, updating its contents during the course of the semester to ensure that all information was being kept up to date. Created and managed social media accounts for the chapter, including Instagram and Twitter [@APXVitruvius] profiles.

11 W O R K S H O P S ATTENDANCE Recruitment [5] Hosted workshops focusing on successfully hosting recruitment and the various considerations to take while planning. Discussed topics including risk management, schedule planning, coordination, and the evaluation process upon completion of recruitment. Led workshops presented at the 69th National Convention in Charlotte, NC [2016] and 70th National Convention in Portland, OR [2017]. Colony Formation [3] Hosted series of workshops for student groups in the process of being formed as colonies intended to teach team-building, leadership, and planning skills. Worked with students to select themes for the professional, philanthropic, fundraising, brotherhood events to host in order to fulfill the petition requirements to form a chapter. Led calendar planning exercise to plan and schedule events for the colony s first year. As Colony Director, hosted Colony Formation Weekends for Amenophis [Spring 2016], Theodorus [Fall 2015].
