The two partners in the practice are: Paul Butler (PrQS M.A.Q.S) - Qualified at Natal University in 1970 with a diploma in quantity surveying. Andrew Butler (PrQS M.A.Q.S) - Qualified at Natal University in 1999 with a BSc. in Quantity Surveying. We provide conventional Quantity surveying services briefly outlined as follows; Stages 1,2,3 Stag 4 Stage 5 Stage 6 Inception, concept and viability, design development, Attending project initiation meetings, Advising on procurement policy for the project, tender or negotiation, Advising on appropriate financial design criteria, Agreeing the documentation program with the principal consultant and other professionals, Attending design and consultant s meetings, Reviewing and evaluating design concepts and advising on viability, Preparing preliminary and elemental or equivalent estimates of construction cost, Assisting the client in preparing a project viability report, Preparing detailed estimates, Documentation and procurement, Attending design and consultant s meetings, Reviewing working drawings for compliance with approved budgets, Preparing documentation for both principal and subcontract procurement, Calling of tenders based on bills of quantities, Assisting with financial evaluation of tenders, Assisting with preparation of contract documentation for signature, Construction stage, Preparation of cash flow schedules, Estimates of variations, Attendance at technical and progress meetings, Adjudicating and resolving financial claims by the contractor(s) Assisting in the resolution of contractual claims by the contractor(s) Establishing and maintaining a financial control and detailed cost reporting, Preparing valuations for payment certificates, Preparing final account for the works on a progressive basis Close-out Valuation of variations and involvement in negotiation of final account with the contractor
