With sea on three sides of the town Walton is blessed by gently shelved sandy beaches as well as yachting backwaters. Walton is alive with interest and is noted for its seafront, its yacht club and marinas, and its Red Crag cliffs with fossils as well as the second longest pier in the country. Local shops such as Tesco Express and the Co-op Foodstore take care of essentials while further afield larger supermarkets at Clacton broaden the choice. The town is self-supporting with pharmacies, groceries, a market and take-aways, as well as pubs and cafés for a spot of relaxation. The pier and its amusements have long been family favourites. After 5.5 miles take the slip road and join the A133 towards Clacton. Follow the A133 until it meets the B1033 at a roundabout.
