2 Dear Annelise The Spring market is now in its early stages and is showing pleasing signs. Last Saturday we took five properties to auction and four sold. This result was consistent with the Melbourne clearance rate of 80% for that weekend. Geelong normally lags behind but not so in this instance.
3 New properties coming onto the market are still comparatively few in number given the time of year. Perhaps everyone is waiting for the football finals to be over, who knows? With only 13 weeks until Christmas, time is of the essence especially when a five week window is needed for an auction campaign. Buyers are out there in numbers looking for the right house. Combined with such a low interest rate environment, the situation is favourable for sellers and buyers. If the Cats manage to win the grand final it will be a great thing for the town. The reverberations of such success move through all levels in this city. It gets up and about. The sun coming out is another facilitator of charged attitudes. As chemically based beings we seem to smile a lot more and have happier dispositions under the sunshine. Again, this assists the real estate market.
