Discussions focused on the role of Asia in Alberta s economic diversification strategies; key policy initiatives in the areas of investment, innovation, and the environment; and the recognition of CanCham s role in the success of Alberta companies in Hong Kong. Amount: $1, Location: Beijing, China Date: April 4 5, 2016 Purpose: Hosted breakfast, lunch, and networking breaks for the International Financial Institutions (IFIs) Bootcamp and Matchmaking Program, which provides companies with a better understanding of the procurement process in winning contracts with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and to develop partnerships with other companies to remain competitive. Amount: $6, Location: Edmonton, Canada Date: April 12, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a Ministerial reception for outgoing Alberta Innovates Board Members to recognize member contributions to Alberta s research and innovation system. 6 Date: April 19, 2016 Purpose: Hosted an all-day Canada-Taiwan Environmental Remediation Technology Forum in collaboration with the Taiwan Association of Soil and Groundwater Environmental Protection, where Alberta environmental remediation solution providers presented and one-on-one business matching meetings occurred to showcase Alberta company expertise and technologies to international buyers. Amount: $5, Location: Taipei, Taiwan Date: May 9, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a meeting for the Minister to meet senior Government of Guangdong officials and key Guangdong business executives to explore two way trade and investment opportunities. This meeting also allowed the Minister to gain valuable market insights from the Guangdong delegates and understand how the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade can support their needs. Amount: $ Location: Vancouver, Canada Date: May 25, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a meeting between the Premier, the Minister, and members of the Premier s Advisory Committee on the Economy (PACE). Amount: $1, Location: Edmonton, Canada Date: May 26, 2016 Purpose: Co-hosted an outreach event with the Canadian Head of Mission to Taiwan in the immediate aftermath of the inauguration of the new Taiwan Government. The event informed participants, including potential investors, importers, and technology partners, of new developments in Alberta and signaled Alberta s intent to be more assertive in the Taiwanese business market. Amount: $ Location: Taipei, Taiwan Date: May 31, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a Canadian networking event at IFAT 2016, in collaboration with the Consulate in Dusseldorf and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, to allow two Alberta companies speaking opportunities at the event and five Alberta companies meetings with international buyers to highlight trade and investment opportunities between Alberta and Germany in the Clean Tech sector. Amount: $1, Location: Munich, Germany Date: June 5 7, 2016 Purpose: Hosted meetings at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization 2016 International Convention in order to network with representatives from the biopharmaceutical industry and other jurisdictions. 7 Date: June 6, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a Canada-Taiwan Sustainable Industrial Development Seminar Pipeline Safety Inspection and Risk Management/Response Technologies to allow a delegation of Alberta companies to visit and present at the seminar. The event participants included industry corporations, government officials, academics, and research institutions in the pipeline safety, technology, risk management, and emergency response industries, to allow the Alberta delegation to meet local stakeholders and seek joint business opportunities. Amount: $2, Location: Taipei, Taiwan Date: June 7, 2016 Purpose: Hosted an Africa Oil and Gas Forum during the 2016 Global Petroleum Show to profile Canadian Ambassadors/High Commissioners and Trade Commissioners and provide a perspective of potential opportunities for Alberta companies in the oil and gas service sector. Amount: $1, Location: Calgary, Canada Date: June 8, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a VIP Business Reception with Calgary Economic Development during the 2016 Global Petroleum Show to allow Alberta companies to network with international participants. Amount: $7, Location: Calgary, Canada Date: June 9, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a briefing session with Alberta and other Canadian companies participating on the trade mission to the Congreso Mexicano del Petróleo (CMP), Mexico s largest oil and gas related tradeshow and exhibition. During the session, companies were given an overview of opportunities and challenges facing Mexico s oil and gas industry, in order to prepare them for matchmaking meetings with Mexican companies during the mission. Amount: $2, Location: Monterrey, Mexico Date: June 16 17, 2016 Purpose: Hosted the Northern Health Summit 2016 addressing key health care priorities within the region by facilitating information sharing, dialogue, and discussion with northern community leaders such as mayors, reeves, First Nations Chiefs, Metis Settlement Chairs, Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta (MLAs), Members of Parliament (MPs), post-secondary leaders, and health care experts. Amount: $9, Location: Peace River, Canada

8 Date: June 22, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a networking and information session with members of the Energy Forum and Canada UK Chamber of Commerce to discuss Alberta s new energy and climate leadership policies, as well as to recognize the role of the Canada UK Chamber of Commerce in promoting Alberta trade and investment in the UK. Amount: $ Location: London, England Date: June 30, 2016 Purpose: Hosted the Canada Day networking event, involving key players in the Canada-South China relationship such as local officials, commercial partners, and media, to highlight the new Alberta Guangzhou Office, establish contacts with local officials, and show goodwill with the Consulate. Amount: $1, Location: Guangzhou, China Date: July 12, 2016 Purpose: Hosted the Stampede Investment Forum (SIF) with Calgary Economic Development, Alberta s Industrial Heartland Association, and Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. The three day event targeted at attracting foreign investment to Alberta by highlighting its strengths and opportunities across industries. It provided international investors with an opportunity to meet with local industry and government representatives in order to expand networks and explore partnerships. Amount: $13, Location: Calgary, Canada Date: August 2, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a networking session to recognize the 35th anniversary of the Alberta Heilongjiang sister province relationship, which has expanded Alberta s influence and reputation nationally as well as strengthened relations with key trade and investment partners in that province. The event was an important part of the sister province relationship, which provides a means of establishing direct and formal relations with foreign jurisdictions and creates a pillar on which economic relations are built. Participants included government officials from both Alberta and Heilongjiang. Amount: $ Location: Edmonton, Canada Date: October 20, 2016 Purpose: Hosted the annual Business Opportunities Seminar, offering attendees a chance to learn of opportunities with International Financial Institutions such as the African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, InterAmerica Development Bank, and World Bank, and how to bid on their projects. Amount: $1, Location: Calgary, Canada

9 Date: October 26, 2016 Purpose: Hosted seminars during the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) visit to Alberta, to allow Korean representatives in the chemicals, agriculture, food and dairy, beauty products, and information technologies industries to network and build relationships with Alberta companies in the same sectors. Amount: $1, Location: Edmonton, Canada Date: November 2, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a networking reception for members of the Canadian Oil and Gas mission, including Kuwaiti oil and gas players, agents, and service companies. Amount: $1, Location: Kuwait City, Kuwait Date: November 2 3, 2016 Purpose: Hosted face-to-face meetings with board members of the Alberta Research and Innovation Authority (ARIA) to reinforce linkages between ARIA and Alberta Innovates, providing opportunities for future collaborations. Amount: $1, Location: Edmonton, Canada Date: November 15, 2016 Purpose: Hosted a Canadian networking event at the Medica trade show to enable participating Alberta companies to meet with international buyers to highlight trade and investment opportunities between Alberta and Germany in the area of medical devices and life sciences.
