7 General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle and on Thursday 13th December between 4pm and 7pm and on the morning of the sale. Prior inspection of the sheep is most welcome, please contact vendors direct. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found in the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the market, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneer s Committee for England and Wales. The Pedigree and Description of each lots are believed to be correct. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. TRANSFERS - A transfer fee of 5 (+VAT) per sheepis payable by the purchaser and paid to BTSS. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. The ewe on offer today are all reared at 11000ft. They have been running with the flock s exciting new ram Congressman who was purchased at the August Sale in Ireland. He was shown very successfully this year winning many Championships. The flock s ewes are bred for width, legs, tight skins, muscle and conformation. Wasp and Siren have played a major role in this and are both going strong at 6 and 9 years old. 10 8 SHEARLING GIMMERS Lots (25 Entries) Dan & Janine Jones Jonsland Flock We would like to extend a warm welcome to our Annual joint Production Sale of Blue Texel In Lamb Gimmers and Ewe Lambs in conjunction with the Whatmore and Hackney Flocks. We extend our thanks to all who have helped us prepare for this sale especially Steve and Sara Gibbons. The Jonsland Flock was established in 2006 with the emphasis on good conformation and tight skins. We have increased our flock by only purchasing the best sheep we can find and by selecting our best ewes for embryo transfers. Although we only go to very few shows and sales, we have had great success over the years, with the highlights being winning the Supreme Champion twice at The Royal Welsh Show, which is one of the biggest shows of Blue Texels in the country. Jonsland Youtube bred by us and sold to the Sercombe Family s Bubblegum flock as a ram lamb was 1st Aged Ram and Overall Champion Blue Texel at The Royal Welsh Show We use home bred Blue Texel Rams in the commercial flock at Tynybryn. We sell to commercial breeders, many who buy from us regularly, producing prime lambs with premium weights and grades. We have also sold to some of the top pedigree Blue Texel flocks. We intend to keep our flock small and to be very selective with our breeding, always concentrating on quality.
