Amanda Ong, Logan Contractors CONTACT US NAWIC- WEBSITE: Welcome Spring! I think everyone is ready to see the snow all melt and the sunshine to brighten the days. We had a great time volunteering at Dress for Success for our WIC Week challenge. We had 2 members volunteer and help sort clothes and accessories from a shipment they got in this week. I think we both had an amazing experience helping out and getting to see firsthand how this place makes a difference within our community. I know I ll be going back to volunteer again. We also had 14 people donate blood with our week long blood drive with NAWIC. They said with our donations we were able to save 52 lives. That is amazing! April is when Forum will take place in South Dakota, we already have some members going and it looks like it will be a great time. We will look forward to reading the reports on everything they learned. Please take the time to think about the decision to run for office or to be a board member. This would be an excellent chance for some of our newest members to participate and learn how the organization takes part in the business end. Next month we will be taking a tour of my house while it gets rebuilt. In February we experienced a house fire and Werner Restoration in Colona, IL has been our contactor throughout the process. They have been amazing to work with and I wanted to have them talk about what it takes to rebuild after a destruction of a fire. I would love for everyone to see what happens and learn what steps they can take if they ever (hopefully not) experience a fire and how to prepare.
