2 March 11 th : World Kidney Day Pine Center Mall Trudy Butler and Mavis Bartell March 11 th : World Kidney Day at University Hospital of Northern BC Alexandria Robertson and Diane Duperron A sincere thank you to * all who manned both Kidney Foundation Information tables, * to Christina Doll at The Wolf and 94X for the interview, * to Noreen Momsey for doing blood pressure readings, and * to all those who walked at the Mall on World Kidney Day. March 18 th : David Devore gave an excellent presentation on Diabetes at our March Chapter Meeting. March Drive canvassers collected $11, during the March Drive in Prince George. Thank you to all who participated. APRIL 2010 April 3 rd : Paul and Diane were invited to have a Kidney Foundation Information Table at a Creative Cow Children s Easter Party. Approximately 100 children present. Thank you to Trav and Barb Williams for helping set up. April 16 th : Our Chapter participated in the Volunteer Prince George Fair at the Pine Center Mall on Friday April 16 th, 2010 from 9am to 9pm. Thank you to Bob Melrose for setting up the silent auction for the donated afghan and fur coat and for manning the table all day with Diane & Paul. Thank you to Barb & Trav & Steve for helping to man the table throughout the day. April 18 th : April 22 nd : Dr. Malcolm Ogborn gave a presentation at our April Chapter Meeting. Diane Duperron and Eva manning a Kidney Foundation Information And T-shirt Table for NOTDAW (Transplant Week) Many thanks to Eva, Trudy, Horst and Gisela, Paul and Diane for manning the table. 20 organ donation awareness t-shirts were sold. MAY 2010 May 15 th : Thank you to Mavis Bartell, Paul Duperron, Wendy Schmidt, Diane Duperron, and Steve Marynovich for participating in the May Day Parade and a special thank you to Alexander Doll for wearing the Sidney costume.
3 May 27 th : Thank you to guest speakers Stephanie Finch and Shelly Pallot, Renal Dieticians, and Emily, the Dietetic Student, for giving an excellent cooking class demonstration at our May Chapter Meeting. JUNE 2010 June 17 th : Diane and Paul were invited to have a Kidney Foundation Information Table at an Afternoon Tea in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. This Rainbow Tea event was held at AimHi. June 23 rd : Trav and Barb Williams and Paul and Diane Duperron with Kidney Foundation Information and Organ Donation Awareness T-shirt Table at Northwood Pulpmill that had sponsored a Wellness Day for employees. June 24 th : Diane Duperron (President of Prince George Chapter) presents Media Award to Dave Barry of CKPG TV at June Chapter Meeting and also to Linda Gilbert of The Big Issue Magazine. Shaw TV Cable 10 was also given a Media Award by the Prince George Chapter JULY 2010 July 24 th : Wayne Kidd Memorial Summer Barbecue and Picnic Prince George Chapter summer barbecue and picnic at Ness Lake Maureen Kidd, our gracious host. A huge thank you to Maureen and family for hosting this wonderful event in memory of Wayne. A great time was had by all. Christina Doll and Diane Duperron enjoying the wonderful afternoon.
4 Loads of fun with people enjoying boat rides, swimming, and riding on rubber rafts behind the boats. We were very pleased that Doctor Lowry & friend were able to attend our picnic. Special thank you to Les Waldie for the wonderful boat rides and giving the occupants a full commentary of Ness Lake. The Walk & Talk at Masich every Monday and Wednesday at 5:00pm wrapped up at the end of June. Thank you to Steve Marynovich for being the Walk Leader. Paul & Diane Duperron continue to deliver cookies and visit with approximately 90 hemo-dialysis patients once a month. Diane Duperron and Chapter Volunteers continue to promote Organ Donation by manning Kidney Information and Organ Donation Awareness T-shirt tables. Thank you to Diane and Chapter Volunteers for manning a Kidney Foundation Information and Organ Donation Awareness T-shirt Table at The PGX on Thursday August 12 th from 10:00am to 6:00pm in Kin 1. Sunday, September 12 th is the Give The Gift of Life Walk at UNBC Northern Sports Center. Registration at 9:00am and Walk starts at 10:00am. Andy & Dave will be playing Country & Western and Rock & Roll music between 9am and 10am. Please mark it on your calendar. Your help with collecting pledges for this event would be greatly appreciated. For pledge forms please contact: Paul Duperron Ph. No Register online at: or Kidney Car is now in Prince George. You can now call to donate your old car to the Kidney Foundation. Plan to attend our September meeting. We are a busy active group working for the benefit of all kidney patients. Next Chapter Meeting: 7:00pm Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at our usual meeting room in the Hospital.
