2 Studio di Progettazione Bardelli Our philosophy Studio di progettazione Bardelli is a well established practice with extensive experience in Italy, and Middle-East. Since establishing the studio almost twenty years ago, the quality of Fabrizio Bardelli s work with private and public clients has brought success and public recognition. The fundamental principle that drives everything that the studio does is that the client s ideas are central to the design process and that the architect s job is to bring them to life. Sensitive use of appropriate materials allows innovative solutions to be designed that sit well in the environment and are sustainable but at the same time provide efficient, flexible, functional spaces that exceed client expectations. We preserve the integrity and authenticity of historic buildings at the same time we use modern materials so that the structure becomes lighter and stronger. Influenced by time studying and researching in Scandinavia, in new builds, we incorporate natural light into flowing spaces to ensure pleasant, healthy and creative environments. Success in competitive tendering has come from our ability to offer value for money high quality solutions from initial design to the planning stages and throughout the build process and in our strong track record of avoiding timescale and cost overruns. Finished developments are a testament to our commitment to partnership, and to constant dialogue that refines our ideas, permits flexibility and provides client reassurance as each project evolves. 3 PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS Project/Site Manager with Goppion SpA: working alongside curators and exhibit designers to resolve all museum exhibition issues with dedicated engineering solutions: Atturaif Living Museum in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia At-Turaif is regarded as one of the only living museums and the largest mud-brick city in the world. The site has been carefully preserved and refined to showcase the history of the first Saudi State ( ) and invite visitors from around the world to experience Saudi culture and heritage first-hand. Atturaif is the most historically significant district of Old Diriyah, capital of the first Saudi state, and designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site German Ivory Museum Erbach in Germany The completely darkened rooms at Erbach Castle provide a suggestive backdrop for an exhibition that features display cabinets, conceived as ethereal floating pillars of light. Designed without either base or frame, with partly satin-finished glass panels, these cabinets create a mysterious contemplative aura around the precious sculptured and engraved objects produced by the brilliant creative skills of the region s craftsmen-artists Civic Museum of Rovereto, Italy Following its great success in Florence the major show promoted by the Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation entitled The world that never was. The pre-colombian Art in the Ligabue Collection, has the ambitious objective of narrating the life, customs, and cosmogonies of Central and South American cultures before the arrival of Christopher Columbus Turin s renovated Egyptian Museum in Italy Goppion took on the challenge of displaying and protecting precious relics with the most sophisticated technologies, leading to the engineering and realization of the museum s entire exhibit design. This included more than 150 structures, display cases, supports and stands, which were built and installed in record time to allow the museum to be open early in time for the World s Fair Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum in Istanbul - Turkey The Milan-based company found itself taking on a challenge having to do with Islamic arts - highlighting the preciousness and painstaking attention to detail and protecting the most delicate pieces and the various ways in which the Islamic arts are interpreted The New Stonehenge Visitor Center in England The display cases in the new Visitor Center, designed and constructed especially for this project, were created by Goppion. These display cases have the most sophisticated climate-control systems to guarantee the utmost in conservation and air-tightness inside a building constructed according to bioarchitectural standards.
