3 Potentate s Message Nobles and Ladies,! Thanks in advance for your support of AAD Shrine in Many of you have already indicated to me a willingness to assist with Shrine events and anything else where a hand is needed. If you do not already belong to a club or unit, look over the list in this publication or, with a few others, start one that peaks your interest. A picture of my pin appears in this issue and may need some explanation. The picture is the Vitruvian Man drawn by Leonardo da Vinci around The first documented drawing was by Vitruvius, a Roman architect in the first century B.C., but the concept goes back much further. The concept is that of the Philosopher s Stone a symbol that represents the final outcome of man s inner transformation. The Vitruvian Man is a symbol of the ideal man. A man s ideal height and outstretched hands, the naval being the center, circumscribes a circle the symbol of the spiritual. When this circle is squared, the four sides touching the top of the head, the soles of the feet, and the tips of the outstretched fingers the square being the symbol of earth or the material. This symbol can be interpreted as the connection between the spiritual and the material.! As Shriners we are all Master Masons which we should not forget. As Master Masons (Shriners) we believe in God the Supreme Architect of the Universe. We also believe there is something beyond our lives here on earth. We are taught to improve ourselves to become better men. One of the ways we learn is through symbols such as the Vitruvian Man.! What better way to improve ourselves than to have fun working to support our philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals, to improve the lives of children.! Have fun - Help kids - Have fun helping kids.!!!!!! 5 STATED MEETINGS Superior Shrine Club At the Annual Meeting on January 13, 2015, it was suggested that Stated Meetings should be more frequent to, among other things, shorten the time period when a Mason petitions for and is voted to membership. For some time we have had quarterly Stated Meetings, the Imperial minimum. We will be going to 6 Stated Meetings a year. The remainder of 2015 meetings are as follows: March 10 May 12 July 14 September 8 December 8 Superior Shrine Club will be meeting on Monday February, 26th at the Dreamland Supper Club. Social hour will begin at 5:30pm, dinner and program beginning at 6:30pm. The program will be Jeannie and Dave Hartwick presenting a slide show presentation of their Colorado River trip. All nobles,wives, guest s and friends are invited. Please RSVP so the restaurant will have an idea of how many people will be attending. RSVP's can be sent to Judy at Downs-Lesage Funeral Home. Any other information please contact Kevin Baker at Everyone is welcome to attend.
