5 OBON HATSUBON MEMORIAL SERVICE COMBINED WITH JULY SHOTSUKI SERVICE The annual Obon Service will be on Sunday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. This service will combine the Hatsubon (first Obon) Service and the Shotsuki Memorial Service for the month of July. Reverend Brian Nagata will be our guest speaker. Obon is a time to remember and honor all those who have passed on before us. It is to appreciate all that they have done for us and to recognize their continuing influence on our lives today. 6 GENERAL CHURCH CLEANUP All members please help with general church clean up on Saturday, July 14th at 7:00 a.m. THANK YOU Thank you to our Obon dance instructors, Leslie Arzola- Guerra and Lindsay Guerra., FOWLER OBON The Fowler Obon will be on Saturday, July 21 st beginning at 5:00 pm. Dancing will begin at 8:00 pm. In preparation for Fowler'Obon, set up will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21th. All members are asked to come and help with set up and tear down. Food preparation can begin as soon as set up is completed. Dharma School and Jr YBA families are asked to help with set up also. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation. Call Aiko Kamine if you are able to help on Friday. All ladies are asked to come on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. to prepare the somen and sushi. The next BWA meeting will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. following church clean up. ALL MEMBERS: Yagura stage take-down and clean up will take place immediately after the Obon activities.
