6 BROAD CREEK Community Transitions s Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center. The $84 million 91,000 square foot community center in Broad Creek opened in April s Broad Creek Villas is a housing development located at Godfrey Avenue and Virginia Beach Boulevard. SOUTHERN SHOPPING CENTER Sams s Club is constructing a 135,000 SF retail warehouse and outparcel gas station at the former Kmart location. An automotive and truck repair facility will also be included within the $20,000,000 development. A Walmart Neighborhood Market and WAWA opened in the Broad Creek community WARDS CORNER NORTH COLLEY Several new restaurants, including Eva s French Restaurant, Cogan s Pizza, and LeGrand Kitchen are locating in the North Colley Avenue area. RIVERVIEW s K&K Square at Wards Corner: $18 million shopping center anchored by Harris Teeter. Completion February Also includes Starbucks, Subway, Great Clips, Moe s, Sleepy s, Albano s Cleaners, GNC, and NTelos. PARK PLACE/35TH STREET Now open in the Riverview area. Newport Plaza, a $6 million mixed-use project by The Hanson Company, is under construction at the southwest corner of West 35th Street and Newport Avenue. It will include a Croaker s Spot restaurant and six apartments. Also coming soon is Newport Manor, at Newport Avenue and 36th Street, with 50 apartments.

BANKS AT BERKLEY s Project features 50 apartments and ground floor medical office supportive of neighborhood needs on 2.8 acre site at the Berkley Shopping Center. THE CROSSINGS AT CAMPOSTELLA STATION s $20 million, 156 apartments and 25 single-family homes to be constructed at former lumberyard site by the Franklin Johnston Group. EAST BEACH PHASE 7 s The final phase of East Beach consists of 38,000 sf of retail and commercial space, as well as a mixture of 80 townhomes, single family homes, cottages and carriage houses. New Residential ATLAS FLATS APARTMENTS s Conversion of former storage facility on 22nd street in the Midtown Industrial area. BAY OAKS ELEMENT AT GHENT FORT TAR LOFTS s Construction of singlefamily homes on 7.2 acres fronting 5th through 7th Bay Streets. s New $26 million project with 164 luxury apartments. s Conversion of historic auto dealership into thirteen apartments, located on Monticello Avenue just north of the new Downtown Arts and Design District. FRONT STREET APARTMENTS s Rockville Development is planning to renovate a 4-story building in Fort Norfolk into the Front Street Apartments. CAPTAIN S LANDING s Proposed development of 38 townhomes at Ocean View Avenue and Chesapeake Street. POINTE EAST AT HARBOR WALK s $25 million project with 80 homes in East Ocean View s Harbor Walk Community. PROMENADE POINTE s $30 million 187- unit luxury apartment community on Wayne Creek. COURTYARD CARRIAGE HOMES AT EAST BEACH EAST BEACH MARINA APARTMENTS s East Beach Marina Apartments is now open with 136 apartments; a $25 million project.
