4 2 TILBURG NOORD Less safe area in Tilburg, largely residential with families with hardly any students. There is a larger mall and a brand new swimming pool. The area is quite far from the university and the city center. We do not specifically recommend that you search in this area because of possible safety concerns. There are basic shopping options such are supermarkets and drugstores next to the several gyms and large parks. 6 4 TILBURG CENTRUM This is the true city center of Tilburg! It is a relatively safe area with a lot of leisurely activities such as bars, restaurants and a large shopping street. Here you will find apartments and student houses but not a lot of families. Living here means that you will often have a room above a store or a bar. 7 5 TILBURG OOST Generally safe area close to the city. The area is very residential with a lot of families and not a lot of students. Here you can find the basics such as apartements and a gym but also the up and coming area Piushaven, a harbor area filled with new restaurants and coffee bars. 8 6 TILBURG OUD ZUID Relatively safe area close to the city. It has a shopping area and many food places. It is also close to the Stappegoor pool. This is definitely an area in which a lot of students live, so there are a lot of options available here.
