We saw great changes and accomplishments. Thank you Vic for a great year! We are going to try and do a few things a little differently this year. For example the Awards Banquet will concentrate more on the sales awards and REALTOR of the Year. The flyer inside has all the details. Be sure to make a reservation. If you have suggestions or new ideas you would like to share, please contact me. We are going to do some fun things again this year like the steak gate and even a family function. This year I want to make the efforts to stress to impress and get our image out there more this year. One way is to use the affiliates to the max. 3 2014 Quarterly Dues Payment The Beaver County Association of REALTORS is offering quarterly payments for the 2014 REALTOR Dues. You would be charged on your credit card $94.50 on March 30th, June 30th, September 30th, and December 30th, 2013 for your 2014 dues. If you are interested in this program, please contact the association office at to get it set up. The deadline to set up for this program is March 15th. If you have any questions, let me know. 6 Hank Lerner of PAR talks about Realtor Complaints website In the last day or two PAR has been made aware of a site called Realtor Complaints ( I m going to dispense with my usual cautiously legalistic approach to accusatory words and say that this site is one of the most obvious scams I ve ever seen. We ve already sent it to NAR for action and will likely publish a warning in JustListed, but I wanted you to know what s going on in case you start getting questions. Agents have started receiving s that read as follows: My daughter's friend hired your agency a couple months ago (and I believe you as the realtor). Her home sold very quickly and I'm interested in hiring you to list our home as well. Would you mind sending me a couple references from past clients of yours? The only concern I have is this bad review I found on realtor complaints. I look forward to hearing back from you, Sara Williams When you go to the site, agents are listed with complaints that are all similarly-worded variations on a theme they seem to have 5-10 complaint templates that have the occasional word changed from agent to agent and a grade of F for the agent. When an agent uses the link that says Click Here to set the record straight and repair your reputation! he or she is offered two options: remove the complaint (for the bargain price of only $49) or remove themselves from the site completely (for a mere $99). Members certainly should not pay the fee (which requires providing a credit card number), and I d advise that they not attempt to engage the owner of the site not that there s any contact information, of course. I d appreciate if you d let me know if you receive these messages so we can see how widespread it gets. I m hoping to have more news from NAR in the next few days, and you can certainly let me know if you have any questions. UPDATE: Just before clicking send NAR published a blog post debunking the site.
