14 Library of the Laboratory System (Circe Library) - Collec5ons An invaluable map collec5on represen5ng the history of the Veneto territories, the current state of Italy and other countries, the techniques of cartographic representa5on over the course of their evolu5on to satellite images More than 100,000 documents including tradi5onal maps and documents produced by en55es, ins5tu5ons, companies, consor5a (cartography, GIS, aerial photographs, satellite images, urban planning tools, building surveys, sta5s5cal data, monographs and periodicals)

18 Archivio Progeh - Collec5ons It collects architectural archives, with drawings, models, photographs, papers, books and recordings. It acquires them mainly from architects, but also engineers, town planners, photographers and corporates Access to original documents limited to graduate students and academic staff

19 Library services - 1 Access, consulta5on and circula5on The Biblioteca Centrale is open to anyone employed or studying within the Italian university system Access to DPA and DSA libraries is reserved to graduate and postgraduate students, academic and non academic staff of the University Iuav of Venice WiFi access and PC for searching the online catalogues, reques5ng books and journals that are not open- shelf located, and for surfing the net (Iuav account required)

21 Library services OPAC Catalogues, databases and digital resources: all records are in the online catalogue (OPAC) of books and journals, accessible at: h?p://opac.iuav.it/sbda/ Disserta5ons, journal ar5cles and audiovisual materials can be searched in different databases (we are working on a new tool for searching all databases simultaneously Primo, and it will be available soon )

22 Library services (3) The Library System website provides access to other informa5on sources: the catalogue and digital images of the Laboratory System, the Slide Library and the Project Archive; the SBN (Na5onal Library System) OPAC other Italian libraries catalogues which are not part of SBN; A selec5on of foreign catalogues e- journals and databases of bibliographic cita5ons or full text on several disciplines related to architecture and urban planning

23 Library services (4) Local Loan and consultation Photocopies, scanning and digital reproductions, according to current copyright regulations (chargeable) Bibliographic information and documentation (with assistance of library staff or through on-line forms) ILL & DD

24 What can Erasmus students do? (1) Access the Main Library and the G. Astengo Library, and all open- shelf collec5ons Borrow circula5ng material (disserta5ons, journals, old and rare books are not admi?ed for circula5on and can only be read in the Special Collec5on Reading Room); all materials which are not open- shelf located have to be requested through the automated loan system (Fluxus) Make reproduc5ons (photocopies or digital reproduc5ons) according to current copyright regula5ons Ask for bibliographic informa5on at the informa5on desk (Main Library, every day ; ) or through the online forms: h?p://opac.iuav.it > informazioni bibliografiche > richieste on- line
