7 .. - Cityof Maple Grove Maple Grove Parks and Recreation MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: Dick Edwards - Community Development Director Chuck Stifter - Parks and Recreation Director DATE: August 26,2016 SUBJECT: J & R Grimm - Short Plat Review After reviewing the above-mentioned submittal, the Park & Recreation Board staff has the following comments: The Park Dedication ordinance applies to this subdivision which requires a land dedication or cash equivalent per unit based on the current rate. No land will be requested for parks or trails. Staff is recommending the Park Board accept a cash dedication. Park dedication fees for residential property are calculated by the unit/lot. The current rate is $3,993 per unitllot. Since the original lot was previously platted park dedication fees apply only to the newly created lot. 1 unit x $3,993 = $3,993 General Park dedication rates are reviewed annually in February by the City Council. The recommendations above are that of the Parks and Recreation staff. Final park dedication requirements are acted on by the Parks and Recreation Board at their regularly scheduled monthly meetings. Applicants may pay the park dedication fee at any time after the final plat has been approved by the City Council but it must be paid before the plat is released by the City for filing.
