3 Be sure your brokerage has a safety plan in place. When meeting clients for the first time, meet at your office or in a public place. Take a buddy if you are unsure. Ask for identification or ask the client to complete an information sheet with basic information; name, address, phone number. 19 Alleges a violation of one or more Article within the Code of Ethics Filed by either a REALTOR or a member of the public The finding of a violation will result in a $250 administrative processing fee and any (or a combination of any) of the following: Letter of Warning Letter of Reprimand Probation Fine up to $15,000 Suspension for no less than 30 days, no more than 1 year Expulsion for 1-3 years Violations of public trust will be forwarded to the Attorney General

20 Alleges a violation of certain Articles within the Code of Ethics Can be filed anonymously Must contain strong, clear, convincing evidence The finding of a violation will result in a $150 fine for the first citation, $250 for the second, and $500 for the third Respondent can request a hearing

29 MIBOR as an Advocate for You The Department: monitors all of the local units of government, in the 12 county area, for issues that impact real estate and our communities. lobby's elected officials on the local level regarding real estate and quality of life related issues. works with community and economic development groups to promote responsible development. 29

ACT: by responding to Calls for Action and communicating with elected officials regarding policies and regulations that promote home ownership and the real estate industry. INVEST: in the REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) to help elect candidates and support industry issues at the federal, state and local levels.

33 Economic and Community Development MIBOR REALTOR Association has a vested interest in promoting economic and community development initiatives throughout its region. These development components, we believe, lead to the promotion of a healthy, vibrant real estate market. Strategies: Grant opportunities, including placemaking micro-grants available to all partnering communities Financial investments into local economic development offices, chambers of commerce, and other community development organizations The utilization of REALTOR leadership on economic development boards via our Economic Development Council Supply housing and market data to local organizations and elected officials in order to strengthen further policy advocacy efforts 33

Any projects aimed at improving the quality of place for a community and its citizens is eligible.
