10 Title: SEPP No. 65 Design Quality of Residential Flat Development Abstract: Raises the design quality of residential flat development across the state through the application of a series of design principles. Provides for the establishment of Design Review Panels to provide independent expert advice to councils on the merit of residential flat development. The accompanying regulation requires the involvement of a qualified designer throughout the design, approval and construction stages. 11 Title: SEPP No. 69 Major Electricity Supply Projects Abstract: Aims to clarify the planning, decision-making and assessment process of the TransGrid Picnic Point to Haymarket 330kV electricity supply proposal and Energy Australia s Haymarket to Surry Hills 132 kv electricity supply proposal. The policy applies to the local government areas of Bankstown, Canterbury, Hurstville, Marrickville, Rockdale, South Sydney and Sydney

12 Title SEPP No. 70 Affordable Housing (Revised Schemes) Abstract: Extends the life of affordable housing provisions relating to: Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 26 City West, Willoughby Local Environmental Plan 1995, South Sydney Local Environmental Plan Schemes such as these are helping to provide affordable housing in areas undergoing significant redevelopment.

13 Title: REP No Parramatta Abstract: Provides a vision for the future of the Parramatta Primary Centre. The plan covers three key issues: ensuring Parramatta s Cultural and economic growth, protecting historic places and improving the design of the city, and improving public transport. The plan contains statutory controls for development, including zoning, building heights, floor space ratios, sun access and heritage protection. It also covers issues such as demolition, subdivision, foreshore development, outdoor advertising, contaminated land, flood liable land and ways of encouraging public transport use.

14 Title: REP No. 29 Rhodes Peninsula Abstract: Promotes orderly and economic redevelopment of 43 hectares of industrial land on the Rhodes Peninsula at concord. The plan rezones the land, establishes controls for redevelopment, defines transport and traffic requirements for the future, and identifies appropriate levels of retail and commercial floor space.

21 Estates in Land According to English law, all land is owned by Crown and all that a person may have is a limited right to use and enjoyment of it. The individually merely has an interest in the land (James Jupp, 2001, The Australian People, University of Cambrigde NSW government, 1900, Real Property Act, NSW Government)
